As we start our Big Picture journey through scripture, I would like us to ask the WHY question, rather than the HOW?

Let me tell you a story about a father that had two sons. One of them was an obedient son when his father was present - but disobedient when he was not there; and the other son was impulsive and short sighted when it came to decisions. After 19 months of protecting the church with policies and safe working practices when we open the building, Covid finally hit the Jackson household in the last week or two. God can get us through anxiety because he doesn’t change, even when our circumstances do. In this Beacon I look at how we confront the experience of anxiety by trusting God and experiencing his peace.

Before I launch in I am going to do the typical preacher thing of defining what justice is. It’s important for us to know what we’re talking about before we try and unpack it. So what is justice? Justice according to the dictionary is “the quality of being fair and reasonable” or “the administration of the law or authority in maintaining fairness”.

The following day the contrast could not have been more marked. It was cold and wet and windy. Thoroughly miserable. I remember that Autumn had truly arrived.
