, we will talk about the nature of revelation, the role of prophecy in modern living, and the importance of studying scripture. As Christians, we believe in a God with particular characteristics. We believe in a God who is holy, righteous, and true.

Steve Potts brings us his thoughts on Identity and Church, and a great insight into his work in Romania

But now you have to decide if you want to accept this gift of forgiveness, this promise of eternal life. If you want to be free from the punishment you brought on yourself, you need to decide to surrender to God and do things His way from now on.

Knowing who we are, sets our hearts and minds on a straight path. We are looking up and beyond to where our final home is. This helps us not to focus on the here and now with all its problems - but on the future to come. This promised future then allows us to shift the perspective on life and manoeuvre our thoughts and increase our faith.

So, here is the culmination of why we are called display love to each other and why the love has to be the love of God, not simply the emotion of human love. It is the full expression of God in our lives. It is the source of our worship, our adoration, our behaviour and witness

The best example we have of selfless devotion and love, is of course Jesus. Every action, word and deed, came from a place of love. He spoke to crowds in their hundreds, healed the sick and performed miracles - but He always had 12 mixed up, sometimes confused, sometimes over enthusiastic, sometimes rebellious - ‘disciples’ - followers or pupils of a teacher - in this case THE teacher!

This process of change is called Metamorphosis, which you won’t be surprised to hear, is a Greek word, which means transformation or change of shape. A butterfly has a complete metamorphosis, looking completely different from what it started out as.

The only incurable sin, is the one the patient refuses to admit he or she has! We are here to admit those in need and treat with hospitality and respect. We are the tools at the disposal of Jesus and we submit to His will as we admit and give hope to those in need.

The final part of our year doing The Big Picture.

The beginning and end of Revelation is Jesus. Revelation is Jesus’s words given to us and is the faithful culmination of all the promises made since that day that Adam and Eve failed in their task to obey God and live in peace with Him for ever.

The truth is, that because I haven’t revealed my starting point, it is impossible to answer correctly, but I am sure people will try to explain their answer with conviction. The whole point of us looking at the Big Picture is to make sure that we read and interpret Gods word with the correct information.

these books were written to the early church but when you read them they feel like they could have been written to us today. The main message of all of them is don’t listen to what false teachers are telling you, obey the bible, avoid sin and love one another because Jesus is who He said He is and will do what He has promised.

We’ve never lived in a time where the information that is in the Word of God has been more accessible to us. These things will send you alarms, break it down for you, give you a bible plan for reading it in a year, help you to read it whilst sitting on the bus to work, read it out to you in morning (that’s what Bekah does), help you with anxiety, stress, your needs and loneliness to name but a few...

Like the Israelites preparing to leave Babylon to return home so we should be preparing to leave this earth behind to return to heaven. We should be looking forward to it as eagerly as we look forward to a holiday, and we should prepare for it as thoroughly as we prepare for the unexpected events of this world.

The Old testament shows us that God does not leave us in our despair, he does not reject us even when we reject him, He does not cease looking for us when we try to hide, He reaches down and rescues ALL those who turn to him. His plan is for a new covenant brought about by Jesus. He rescues us in our despair and from that point Gods plan is to restore - to all people - relationship with Him

We must be careful that we do not step out of Gods purposes for us and His intentions. It is fairly clear that Solomon turned away from God - and as such the blessings will dry up - so, we are told that Solomon was harsh towards people from other lands, using them as slave labour to build the temple and other infrastructures.

David is a King after Gods own heart - the only King to have this said of him. He united the Israelites unified nation. Find out more....

One of the problems I had when I first became a Christian was how to understand the book which was supposed to give me the help and guidance I would need as a new Christian. One of the problems I have today - is I still find myself lacking in understanding in what is a huge body of work, written over many years by numerous authors.

Steve brings us some more information on his work over in Romania. Helping us to understand the needs, and also the blessings that happen over there.

Our timeline of the Bible gets a little complicated from this point on as man continues to make mistake after mistake - as we will see - every man chosen is still a man and subject to sin and failure
