The Bible says that faith without action is useless. This passage shows us what the practice of faith can involve. Practising our faith can see the impossible as possible; it may even appear absurd at times, but it also highlights amazing grace.

Our guest speaker today is Dr Andy Bannister, the director of Solas. His message draws from the Apostle Paul’s mission trip in Athens and encourages us to engage with the culture of our day, in the same way that Paul did. We live in a world of confusion, but people are desperate for love and for purpose, and these are signposts we can use to point them towards Jesus.

Today, Pastor Pete brings us an inspiring message on the incredible faith of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. They all faced challenging situations, but they were unwavering in their belief of God’s faithfulness and promises in their lifetime as well as beyond.

In Part 3 of this series, Pastor Pete encourages us to be courageous visionaries who live life with a big vision, with an understanding that although we are temporary residents on this earth, we are however looking forward to a better country – a heavenly one.

We are starting the year with a new series on faith. In Part 1, Pastor Pete unpacks what is and what isn’t faith. He encourages us to take bold steps of faith this year, believing who God is and what He has promised in His Word.

Today, Pastor Pete unpacks the very first prophecy made regarding Jesus. His coming and the promise of restoration for mankind were announced soon after the Fall in the Garden of Eden. Jesus was not an afterthought in God’s salvation plan. He is the central figure in the unfolding drama of redemption; He is the central figure for the entire history of mankind.

This message is an exposition of Micah’s prophecy regarding the coming of Jesus. The eternal God Himself was coming into the world. His birth 2000 years marked the outworking of His everlasting plan to create a people united to Him by an everlasting covenant.

Today, Pastor Pete brings a message of hope. Jesus’ birth bridged the gap between the invisible realm and the visible realm. It was God Himself who came from heaven to earth. He who made man became man in order to save the human race.

The first of our Christmas messages this year centres on the Biblical characters of Anna and Simeon. Here are two of the most devout followers of God who were unwavering in what He had called them to do. Through their examples, Pastor Pete encourages us to find and to fulfill the purpose He has for our lives in our generation.

If God is bigger than us and He lives in us, He would show through us. Pastor Pete ends this series by encouraging us to pray, to care and to share, so that God can be revealed to the world through us. 

The Bible says that the “gospel … is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes”. As Christians, the greatest seed we can ever sow in someone’s life is therefore the seed of the gospel. All we need to do is sow the seed and God will do the rest.

Devastation can be the defining moment of our lives – for good. Our God is the God who brings good things out of loss, pain and difficulties. In this message, Pastor Pete encourages us to trust Him as we navigate this new season.

Everybody has a story to tell! Our last two years, as a church community, have been very challenging. But Pastor Pete reminds us that like the Israelites, after leaving Egypt, we are not meant to live in the wilderness. And like the Israelites, on their way to the Promised Land, we are also meant to go and take the territory that God has already given us.

The Bible is clear that as believers, we have an advocate. Jesus was our advocate on the Cross, crucified on our behalf so we do not receive the punishment we deserve. He is also currently our advocate in heaven, representing us before the Father. Knowing this allows us to have deep security in our faith and for our journey on earth.

The Bible declares that Jesus is our Saviour, whose death has justified and made us righteous once and for all. In this message, Pastor Pete unpacks why, though justified, we still need Jesus as our High Priest to continually intercede on our behalf in heaven.
