CISN in the Morning

Two thirds of the gang is back from Mexico! How as the trip? Let's just say poor Matt was a little under the weather most of the time. That got us talking about how your vacation got ruined. We also got into the most competitive person in your life, since Gregg is headed out to take on the James Barker Band in some game action today.   

We give you the grand total from this years Stollery Children's Hospital Radiothon and a whole bunch more!

We kicked off the show by getting into the stuff you were into before everyone else. Matt claims he was first to the fidget spinner, but we call bullhooey. And with Kennedy coming to Mexico with the gang next week, we talked about baby hacks on the plane. We also touch base with Jay from our sister station who was in Hawaii when the bomb scare happened.    

It's Blue Monday, the supposed most depressing day of the year. To turn that frown upside down, we played "Sad to Glad" with Matt being our in house doctor. We also had a big concert announcement and gave tickets to it with "Who Do You Trust?". And after Hawaii had the HORRIBLE false alarm, we talked about yours.

Capitan Connor is turning 21 this weekend when the Oilers are on the road in Vegas of all places. That got us going on your 18 or 21st birthday stories. We also sent Matt out to give our very chilly friend, Peter, a little gift for everything he's doing for the Stollery Children's Hospital. And we have the hardest "What is Matt Chopping?" yet!

It might be the coldest day of the year Edmonton will get, and it sure didn't help it was probably the worst day in traffic in years. We heard plenty of your tales from the road. We also hear from a lady whose husband won't let her park in the garage without brushing off all the snow from her ride in another CISN love court. And Matt busts out another veggie for "What's Matt Chopping?"    

The snow has arrived, that means everyone is out shoveling. But do you do your neighbors walks? We talk snow angels and snow shoveling etiquette. We also get into Chris's close captioning problem in "Weird or What?". And Matt busts out another veggie for "What's Matt chopping?"

Jack is back from her Xmas vaycay with one of the craziest animal run in stories you'll ever hear. After her tale, we got into your animal run in stories as well. Plus, we touch base with local Stollery dad, Peter (aka a fathers freezing) about his ongoing fundraiser that's happening right now.    

Chris is a pretty easy going dude, but one thing he HATES is the elephant gift exchange. Hear him sound off on it and we share your thoughts as well. We also talk about Christmas party follies and Kelsey plays her recorder one last time. 

We heard the story of a fella who always dreamt of getting an easy bake oven for Xmas, but never got one. But thankfully at the age of 27, he finally got it and couldn't have been more excited. That got us talking about your toy you wanted as a kid, but got as an adult. We also heard Kelsey debut her Christmas recorder for Marmot Basin tickets!          

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's the first show of 2018, and Kelsey is filling in for Jack. We talk resolutions, and what you are trying to change this year. Kelsey is promising to lay off the snooze button and Chris wants to be an auctioneer. We also talk about your junk car since Matt's ride won't heat up which is particularly difficult in minus -25.   

Matt plays bingo every Christmas? That got us rolling on your weird Xmas traditions and we took a ton of calls on it. We also did the big gift exchange in studio, and made people guess Matt's gift for Johnny Reid tickets!

We have a co worker who's wife is 3 WEEKS OVERDUE! That got everyone talking about their babies who don't want to come into the world. We also aired yet another very special Christmas Wish about a little boy who's going through a lot,

All anyone is talking about these days is the new Star Wars movie, and if you haven't seen it, aviod spoilers is nearly impossible. That got us talking about things that got spoiled in your life. We also got into how you're supposed to buy gifts for your S.O. with the same bank account. Plus we debuted Jack's holiday gift box for Johnny Reid tickets!

We're in the heart of school Christmas concert time, so we looked back at our favorite xmas concert memories and took calls on yours. We also aired another CISN Christmas Wish, this time to a very deserving military family. We also played who do you trust for Johnny Reid tickets! 

The big question of the day was when did Chris take his bathroom break during Star Wars? We find out from some help of his daughters boyfriend. We also talk about the best autograph you own. Plus we air yet another amazing CISN Country Christmas Wish.   

HAPPY STAR WARS DAY! The Last Jedi is out today, so we celebrated by talking about Chris's tiny bladder. We also got into your favorite movie soundtracks. And who can forget, we had former Oiler, and Captain Canada, Ryan Smyth on to chat about the last ever game at Northlands Coliseum.  

It was "Brett Kissel Day" in Edmonton yesterday, so naturally the day after would be Brett Kissel Boxing Day. We had Brett in studio for about an hour to talk about his new CD, the Oilers, his upcoming show & more. And with Jack's hubby Bob making a mess of his car, we talked about why your husband is a pig. And we had yet another CISN Christmas Wish!   

Oilers D-man Kris Russel had a very bad day yesterday, scoring on his own goalie with seconds left to seal the deal for the Leafs. In honor of the poor fella, we talked about your work blunders. We also talk advent calendars, since Jack has no idea what to do for Kennedy. Plus the glorious return of Freaky Friday!

There was a big time 50/50 at the Oielrs game, and our little Matt happened to pick up a ticket. Did he win? We alos heard from a mom who has a new love in her life, but is nervous for her kids to meet his kids. We take your calls on what she should do. 

T SHIRT TTTIIMMMEEE! Jersey Shore is back! And with that we talk about the worst shows ever. Redneck News told us about a guy in Florida who tried to steal the WRONG car, so we chatted about times you sat in the wrong ride. We also catch up with Kristen who received a special CISN Christmas Wish last year.     

Happy Black Friday! We sent our very own reporter to Best Buy to see what the line ups were like, and got some interesting results. We also kicked off the great debate: to cheer for Calgary or not? Plus we replayed yesterday’s incredible Christmas Wish.   

We didn't plan on having a CISN Christmas Wish this early, but Lyndi's story just couldn't wait. It was a special moment we were so happy we could grant for this deserving family. 

Our little Jack had a run in with the window the other day, so we took your door/window run in stores and got a TON of great ones. And with the "McToaster" out now, we talked about who you'd want on your toast. Lots of Blake Shelton's and a few wildcards as well!
