The Savant Boys look ahead to National Cinema Day, September 3rd, to see what movies should be watched to celebrate. We give our appreciation to AMC this week for promoting the day with $3 movie tickets to celebrate. This week we review the Idris Elba movie Beast, along with the Amazon Prime release of Samaritan, starring Sylvester Stallone. 

The Savant boys are back! Covering the latest Marvel release, She-Hulk, the new Netflix original Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx, as well as the news breaking on AMC preparing for bankruptcy. Do movie theaters need "Black Star Power" to save cinema post pandemic? Have high ticket prices driven fans away and pushed streaming to the forefront? 

This week we're reviewing the surprise hit from Hulu, Prey, the latest installment from the Predator franchise. Was this latest release as good as the original? What made this one so different than the latest installments? Also, we review Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt and we cover the latest milestone for Top Gun: Maverick.

Taking a break from the regular format this week to break down some major news stories surrounding the entertainment industry.....starting with "The Apology" from Will Smith. We do a deep dive on why he's talking now and if he was truly sincere. We later discuss the outcry of racism at Sesame Place along with other topics.

This week we have local filmmaker Andrew Gilford in for an amazing conversation about his filmmaking process and also his love of cinema. He is currently filming his short film, Cold As Steel, and we get some insight on his character as well as the many jobs he has taken on as an up-and-coming artist. We cover a lot of topics this week so enjoy the conversation with a room full of cinema lovers.

Plenty of surprises, good and bad. Tom Cruise made his mark on the year so far. The Batman was a great success. Netflix is leaving all other platforms in the dust, but is the quality good?

This week we're looking back at Jurassic World Domination to see what went wrong with this final installment. Why is it so difficult to stick the landing on a trilogy? We get Shawn's review on the latest episode of Obi Wan. To infinity......and beyond! Buzz Lightyear is coming out this weekend, so we give our thoughts on the upcoming release.
