Cinematic Leap

This episode we leap with Mary Elizabeth Winstead who plays the daughter of Bruce Willis in Die Hard 4.0 (also know as Live Free or Die Hard). Can a 4th Die Hard film be as good as the others? Probably not, but we watched it anyway because that's where we've ended up and that's how the leaping rules go. Hope you enjoy this episode, it's a fun movie and an even funner podcast discussion.

We did it! We got through a whole season of episodes, rambling our way through many films, some good, some great, some absolutely terrible. But it was fun. For Mike's third leap we head to 2007 Edgar Wright classic Hot Fuzz . Lots of action, lots of comedy, lots of mysterious accidents (or are they murders?) We leapt here somehow through systems engineer Rodrigo Bernardo.

This week we leap to Mike's second film choice, 2014 epic sci-fi Interstellar . We leapt here through Matthew McConaughey who is fast becoming a Cinematic Leap favourite. 

Back to the action films this week with Mike's first of three leaps - 2005 action adventure Sahara starring Matthew McConaughey, who we last saw in We Are Marshall way back in episode 8. Listen now to discover if we enjoyed this forgotten modern action classic, or if it should stay forgotten...

Number one on our all time top 5 movie podcasts is clearly this one, not only because this week we leap to 2000 music drama (comedy?) High Fidelity starring John Cusack and Jack Black, but also because we had a lot of fun making it! Glenn's third film of his three leaps. Not sure this will be in the top 5 films we've reviewed this season, although Glenn certainly thinks it should be up there.&nbsp...

This episode we discuss Serendipity. We leapt here with Eugene Levy who has a much bigger role in this film. Serendipity is a 2001 romance comedy so it is no surprise Glenn chose to take us here. 

We could have leapt to almost anything when Rosario Dawson was chosen as this episodes leaper, she's amazing and done so many great films, but Glenn took us to the 2001 classic comedy music film Josie and the Pussycats. Something a bit lighter than the last three films Scott had chosen. A nice change! Who knows where he will take us with his next two picks...

This week we discuss Unstoppable , the 2010 film starring Denzel Washington. Unstoppable was the last film directed by Tony Scott, and also the last of three films chosen by our Scott for his leap of three. Unstoppable opens up many possible leap directions for Glenn to chose from but which way will he go...? We arrived at Unstoppable through composer Harry Gregson-Williams.

This episode we discuss 2010 crime thriller The Town . Not the best bank robbery movie out there, but not the worst either. We leapt to The Town through actor Ben Affleck even though he's done plenty of better films. This is far from his worst though...

This week Scott actually chooses a good movie again and we leap to Gone Girl - the David Fincher thriller starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike and based on the book by Gillian Flynn. We leapt here from Starship Troopers through actor Neil Patrick Harris.

This episode we leap to something much more frightening than bad ghost effects - space bugs - with the leaper Jake Busey to the classic sci-fi film Starship Troopers . 

This episode we leap with Michael J. Fox to The Frighteners - Peter Jackson's comedy horror film from 1986. Why didn't we just go straight to Back To The Future 2 ? No idea!

We couldn't resist leaping to the 80's time travel classic Back To The Future . As soon as Glenn noticed the composer for The A-Team the leaper was chosen. What more can be said about this film that hasn't been said before? Probably nothing, but that didn't stop us taking this on anyway.

This episode we discuss the 2010 action thriller The A-Team based on the 80s TV show. We arrived at this film from The Ice Storm through actor Henry Czerny. The A-Team stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel and is not as bad as you would expect. 

This episode we discuss Glenn's favourite film - Ang Lee's The Ice Storm . We arrived here by leaping with Sigourney Weaver. The film also stars Kevin Kline, Joan Allen, Tobey Maguire and Christina Ricci. 

With the very random choice of Reginald VelJohnson we leap from Die Hard 2 to Ghostbusters . Could this be our new number one film after we all give our rating? Surely it will be! Listen to find out!

Who doesn't love the Bruce Willis Christmas classic Die Hard ? Nobody! But we couldn't quite get there so this episode we discuss the other Bruce Willis Christmas classic - Die Hard 2 ! We arrived at this film by leaping with Step Brothers cinematographer Oliver Wood.

This episode we discuss the hilarious 2013 crime comedy film We're The Millers . This film stars Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter. We leapt to this film through actor Nick Offerman. 

This episode we find ourselves staring at Men Who Stare At Goats for some reason. This 2009 film stars Ewan McGregor, George Clooney and Jeff Bridges. We leapt here through actor Robert Patrick. Where will this film take us...?

This week we discuss the 2006 film We Are Marshall. This sports movie is based on a true story and stars Matthew McConaughey and has a much more uplifting ending than last weeks film. We arrived at this film through leaping with actor Anthony Mackie. 

This week we leap to the 2004 sports drama Million Dollar Baby through Morgan Freeman. Clint Eastwood directed, while also starring. Hilary Swank won an academy award for her performance, as did Morgan Freeman. This film won 4 Oscars in total from 7 nominations, but more importantly - what did we think?
