Cinema Spin: A Movie Podcast with a Random Twist!

It's finally here.  The long awaited sequel to Avatar is now in theaters.  Listen for our full review of Avatar: The Way of Water.  Then in the shows second segment we have a bit of an opposite.   First we had our water movie now tune in for a fire movie in 1991's Backdraft.

We are back again after yet another week away.   We are still working out the kinds in our new schedule. New to streaming this week on HBO MAX is The Banshees of Inisherin.   Jason and Matt have a full review for you.    Then in the show's second segment we go back to the early days of the MCU and take a look ate The Incredible Hulk from 2008.  Thanks again...

It may have taken us forever to get to it but we finally made our way around to seeing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.  We have a full review.   Then in the second segment of the show we go back 20 some odd years to the year 2000 and review Meet the Parents.  One of the more classic family comedies of the new  Century.   Thanks for listening!!

After missing a week due to illness yet again, we are back with a new episode!   First up this week is a look at Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022).  Jason and Matt have a full review for you.    Then in the second half of the show we go all the way back to 1963 to see why Sidney Poitier took home the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in Lilies of the Field.

Join us for a look at All Quiet on the Western Front.  An all new adaptation of the classic 1929 novel that is streaming currently on Netflix.   Then in the show's second half we go back to 1997 for at look at The Devil's Advocate.  Does Al Pacino chew up some scenery in this one?   Oh you betcha!

Todd Field is back to directing with the new film TAR.  It stars Cate Blanchett in the lead role.   Jason and Matt give a full review.  In the second half of the show the guys go back to 1979 for a fresh look at Steven Spielberg's madcap comedy, 1941.

We had to think outside the box this week in order to find a new movie to review.   We ended up settling on I Love You, You Hate Me the new documentary streaming on Peacock about the Barney phenomenon in the 1990's.    Then in the second half of the show the randomizer tasked us with reviewing Robin Williams and Kurt Russell in The Best of Times from 1986.

David O. Russell has a new film out called Amsterdam and Jason and Matt spend the first half of the show letting us know how they felt about it.    Then in the shows second segment they go all the way back to 1961 for a look at the World War II classic, The Guns of Navarone.

First up this week and brand new in theaters is SMILE.  The first of many horror films jammed into the Halloween release window.   Then in the second half of the show we go back to 1993 to take a look at Kevin Costner starring as a fugitive on the run in the Clint Eastwood directed film, A Perfect World.   Thanks for listening everyone!!

After a week away Jason is back once again and along with Matt they take a look at Don't Worry Darling.  They review the film and decide if that old saying is true.   There is no such thing as bad publicity.   Then in the second half of the show the fellas go back to 1975 to review the cockroach infestation film BUG.

As Jason is away on vacation this week, Matt is once again joined by Ben to take a look at this weeks slate of movies.   Goodnight Mommy which was released to streaming this week is first up and then it's back to 1996 for The Sylvester Stallone flick Daylight.

Matt and Jason are back after missing an episode due to illness (Matt) once again.   Our new movie this week is Barbarian, a horror movie that was released into theaters on Sept. 9th.   Then in the second half of the show we drill deep into The Core from 2003, this weeks random movie.   See what I did there?

In what has become a very difficult stretch to find new theatrical movies to review for the show, once again we had to turn our attention to a film that was new to streaming.   After some debate, we settled on Samaritan which recently debuted on Amazon Prime.   Then for our retro movie we were assigned to watch Colors from 1988, an inner city crime drama starring Robert Duvall...

No real difference of opinion this week as Matt and Jason could not agree more.  Emily the Criminal (2022) is a movie to highly recommend and Arlington Road from 1999 is utterly stupid!   Listen to see how it all played out!

Another week, another strong disagreement between Jason and Matt.   This time it is over our new film for this week, Vengeance (2022).   For our random film this week, the great randomizer landed on Bad Boys from 1995.   Please listen to find out what the guys thought of it after all these years.  

After having a heck of a lot of trouble finding a "new" movie to review this week, Jason and Matt finally landed on The Sea Beast (2022).   They're full review kicks off this weeks show.     Then in the shows second half, the great randomizer sent the boys all the way back to 1992 for a fresh look at Death Becomes Her.

This week Jason and Matt are joined by, Friend of the Podcast Mark, and the three of them take a long detailed look at Thor: Love and Thunder.  The newest release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then in the second segment of the show they go back to 1964 to take a look at the Anthony Quinn classic Zorba the Greek.

Finally, a new episode!  Sorry everyone for all the delays.  This week we take a look at Elvis, the lavish new biopic by Baz Luhrmann.  Then in the second segment of the show, we go back to 1970 to revisit Soylent Green.   Spoiler Alert!  Its People!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week Matt and Jason have an unusual pair of films to review.  First up is, Lightyear, a Pixar movie that kind of acts as a origin story for Buzz Lightyear.  Then in the second half of the show they go back to 1982 for Slumber Party Massacre.  A very typical 1980's slasher romp!
