Jesus never did a miracle with the purpose of PROVING anything to anybody. Everything He did was to serve others. He didn't make a reputation while concerned with the superficial, but by being concerned with service. This is an example we need to emulate. No need to proving what you already know - let your service reveal to "them" who you are.

The obstacles you faced in the past did not make you, nor do they define you. This is a myth. Your responses to those obstacles are what have the true influence on who you are now; Correcting the negative images of the "past you" is imperative. How we view our past selves can very well have an impact on how we approach our future.

We may encounter situations that are great and others that are bad, but that does not mean our mindsets or the narratives of our lives have to follow that fluctuating pattern. There is power in being moderately-minded.

God can chastise us for us to be stronger, not to harm us. Chastisement may not be joyful, but oftentimes those experiences are what we need for our faith to grow. When your faith grows, you grow.

Too many of us waste our life away waiting for everything to be perfect before we chase our dreams or be obedient to God. You're busy waiting to see "it" so you can move, while God is waiting for you to move so you can begin to see "it." No more waiting - work. - R.I.P. Kobe

Can students be "too goal-oriented"? Is it okay for students to get so caught up in academia they neglect all of their other passions? Today Emmanuel sits down with his very first guest. Close friend, Michael Okene, got to a point in his academic career where he had to make a decision on whether or not he should continue to manage the UCLA basketball team or focus more on his med-school route.

The reason you came down off that spiritual high is not because God wore off. Sometimes the reason we lose the new ideas and messages God has given us is because we still operate with an old mindset. New wine needs new wineskins; God needs your imagination to grow parallel to the visions He's giving you.

When our prayers have aligned with God, God gives us what we ask for. The true mission comes in our process of receiving that blessing. We need the faith and attentive ears needed to follow instructions and not faint. When we realize how God has already given us what we prayed for it helps us to acknowledge the inevitability of our destiny.

Uncertainty gives birth to the type of fear that paralyzes. God doesn't want you to be stuck one place. He needs you to move, He needs you to expect. We need to stop second-guessing ourselves for the sake of the fulfillment of God's promises in our lives.

God isn't helping you to fulfill your life purpose JUST for you to be happy. He's using you to bless others. When we realize that, we are able to focus less on ourselves (insecurities, fears, doubts), and just know that God will use us according to His will for the sake of helping the people He loves.

I have mistakenly lived a life of seeking affirmation from other people in order to believe I was special. I didn't feel special until other people treated me like I was special. That is no way to live, as compliments are just as inconsistent as people are. The only person you need to treat you like who you are in order to be you, is you.

Being a Christian doesn't mean life becomes easy. You will still face problems, still have hardships - however the difference lies in how you are able to conquer them. Building a foundation on Christ is like building your foundation on the rock - it will allow you to withstand the flood.

Optimism is a result of our faith in God. This is what we must use to access God's promises for us. Positive thinking, and hope for a better future is what will get us through our current, hard times. Optimism is more than a feeling, or a word used to describe a type of person, it's a tool that opens doors and a keeps us from giving up.

When we realize that everything is not about us - but about others - we are able to stress less about our personal insufficiencies and focus more on God's ability to change lives through us. When we serve God we don't have to know "how", we just need to make sure we are obedient and serving as He wishes.

Sometimes, amidst being 100% goal-oriented, we become too fixated on an action plan - then loose sight of the actual reason behind us accomplishing said goal. Ultimately, each of us have a purpose to serve God and other people, and when we get distracted from service, we lose all authenticity when approaching a task. Remember - service is everything.

Many of us spend our entire life preparing for the future. This is great, however, this habit - like all habits - need to be managed. Too much preparation for the future can distract one from living and loving their life in the present. Everyday of your life has purpose - even now, before you're financially stable, with a family and big house.

Somehow at the end of a week in which I took 2 fat L's - I managed to be very proud of myself and content with life. This is because ultimately, I've been growing, and starting to understand more about the purpose behind L's and the best ways to respond to them.

There is a difference between "guilt" and the Christian definition of "conviction". The latter means to be remorseful and know wrong - while the other is a device used by the enemy to make you think you are too unworthy to have a relationship with God. It's time to get rid of the guilt before it kills you.
