It has been 22 years since Joseph has seen his brothers last and what does he do when he sees them for the first time? Throws them in prison. In the end he has Simeon locked up and has the rest go home with extra money in their sacks. Jacob is then told that Benjamin must go with them and is afraid to let him go.

Pharaoh has a dream about cows and a dream about wheat. No one can interpret the dreams. The cupbearer remembers his promise and tell Pharaoh about Joseph. The chief cupbearer and the chief baker are both imprisoned by Pharaoh and Joseph becomes their personal assistant. While in prison, they both have dreams and are in need of interpretation. One interpretation is good the other is bad, and in the end Joseph is forgotten for his gift from God.

Today Leon Alderidge and I Evaluated Genesis Chapter 39. Genesis 39 talks about how Joseph lands in prison by not sleeping with his master's wife. Sometimes doing the right thing makes you land in the shackles of the enemy, but God has a plan.

To be wiser we must consistently seek wisdom so we may obtain more.

Judah has 3 sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah. Er gets married and dies. Onan takes his wife and displeases God and dies. Judah then fears for his son Shelah's life and prevents him from marrying Tamar. Eventually, Tamar tricks Judah into giving her the Heir she deserves.

Joseph is disliked by his brothers for being favored by their father. As a result his brothers sell him to the Ishmaelites. 

Wisdom is like the best meal the mind can obtain. It not only leaves you satisfied but also ready to work.

In this Chapter we get to know the family of Esau(Edom) a little better. We also get to know a few of his descendants.

In This Chapter we see Jacob obey God's voice and build an altar in bethel. We also see the birth of Benjamin. The death of Deborah, Rachel, and Isaac. Jacob's name is also changed to Israel.

The longer we obtain wisdom the better we will be.

Shechem Son of Hamor defiles Dinah; he then attempts to marry her. Thankfully to the quick thinking of her brothers Simeon and Levi she is saved from him.

Jacob and Esau reunite. They weep and Esau meets Jacobs family. Then, Jacob goes his own way lying to Esau in the Process.

To become wise we must realize that we are not as wise as we think we are.

Jacob prepares to meet Esau by sending him messengers. When the messengers return with news that Esau is on his was with 400 men Jacob panics. Jacob then prepares his family for the possibility of danger. Then He wrestles with God through the night.

God tells Jacob to leave Laban and His wives agree. Laban pursues them 7 days when he discovers that Jacob had taken them. In the end He and Jacob make a covenant.

How sweet is wisdom to those who gain it. Avoiding the despair that fools endure.

Rachel makes Jacob marry her servant; who then has 2 children. Leah makes Jacob marry her servant; who also has 2 children. Leah has 2 more children. Then Rachel has a child. Finally Jacob wants to leave. Laban wants him to stay; Jacob takes all the spotted livestock and leaves the weak for Laban.

Jacob is worked for 14 years to obtain the woman whom he loves. Leah has Children for him.

With wisdom we can avoid the mistakes that others make and pursue a bright future.

Jacob flees from Canaan and falls asleep on a rock. He then has a vision from God about a Stairway to Heaven; angels are descending and ascending.

The wiser you become the more knowledge you will gain.
