Continuing in the series, and in the writings of the prophets, even as they wrote to a contemporary audience, there is something there that speaks to us as well as we live in the last days. Joel spoke an oracle of 1) blessing, 2) judgement and 3) salvation from this passage found in Joel 2:28-32.

We are living in the last days. Wake up! Judgement, repentance, and humility.

A local church can be a reflection of the people within - positive and negative. Is salvation by knowledge or training or something else?

Why go to church? There are many reasons some of which are stated in Psalm 84 which was written by the sons of Korah who were the janitors, the custodians and doorkeepers of the Tabernacle.

"For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?" We are all sent to where we live, work and play.

What is the promise? What does it communicate or infer? What does it pass on to the recipient? What does it confer? Who is the promise?

Making disciples is a command of our Lord and is essential as we go into the future. So today, a look at the Giver (Jesus Christ the conqueror, the divine warrior, who gives gifts to men.), the Gifts (people), and the Purpose (equip for the work of ministry).

As we go into the future, we must make opportunities for evangelism as we risk relationship with people, interacting and meeting needs, constantly in prayer.

Just as the woman at the well was met where she was by Jesus, we to have someone in our history who met us at the well with the message of the one who is the living water. Continuing with Part 02 of series "Into the Future" how may we experience the profound change for which we long? As we consider our purpose and vision a look at 1) the radical love of regeneration/new birth; 2) that radical love of gospel change; and 3) the radical love of Christ our King.

Salvation is of the Lord! It is the Lord that saves completely and fully --without permission and without consent-- for His glory and because of His love for those upon whom He sets His grace.

God is the central focus of everything in the Bible and He has a purpose and plan and He shares His glory with no one; except His people who are free to ask Him..."Why?" and to share our joy and exaltation and pain and questions as did David when he said, "How long O Lord..." What does is mean to enjoy God? What does it mean to bear His image? And how then shall we live moving forward?

How shall we live in a world where it appears to us that God does not act upon injustices that we see? By 1) The Mirror-We reflect on our own shortcomings; 2) The Window-We pick up our cross daily; and 3) We realize that true joy and peace find us and it is not the other way around.

The story of the Bible is a story that traces the history of redemption; a story of 1) Lost Glory, 2) False Glory, and 3) True Glory.

We all have challenges ahead, some to the point that if we knew what was ahead we would not get out of bed in the morning! But when we look into eternity... that changes everything!
