The world is always on shifting social, moral, and religious grounds. So, as Christians who believe in unshifting truths, how do we find common ground with an ever-changing (and often strange) new world? What should our gospel witness look like today in cancel culture? Much to learn and apply today from Paulʼs experience in Athens long ago.

Time is a precious commodity. We all have the same amount of it. So, we tend to think of it as something we control. Do you really control the times and seasons of your life? Letʼs open our Bibles and see what a God-shaped view of time & eternity looks like for our lives.

Thatʼs a big question. Solomon lived our “American Dream” in ways we can only imagine. Whatʼs his final take on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness under the sun? Was it enough to satisfy his soul? Is it enough for us? Letʼs open Godʼs word this morning and see.

How do we find meaning in life in light of the seemingly empty nature of everything? Thatʼs the hard question Ecclesiastes honestly asks and ultimately answers. Come, letʼs learn from Godʼs Word this morning!

God has given the Church a great gift by giving us each other. Friendship and love for each other are the distinctive marks of Christians. There is great freedom available when we serve one another and serve God together.

The work of making disciples is not reserved for missionaries, we are all called to participate in it. Paul shows us some ways that we, the everyday church members, should be engaging in this work as well.

The family is where mission starts, and Godʼs plan for filling the world with His glory is through the family.

Christ reigns in Heaven and will return one day. What does it mean to be subject to Him here and now? How do we live in this world and prepare ourselves for the coming Kingdom of God? In Colossians 3, Paul explains to us how subjects to Christ live in light of the Kingdom of Heaven.

It's one thing to reject lies that we may hear from the world, but what happens when the lies come from within our culture or our own tendency to self-righteousness? We are reminded in all things that we are to follow Christ and find our hope in Him.

The lies and deceitfulness of this world want to disrupt our faith, but we are reminded that Christ has not only triumphed over them but also empowers us to do the same.

Having established the supremacy of Christ, we now look at the ministry and mission of Paul toward the Colossians, and what his motivation and goal was for them. In both, we see truth about our own mission and where we should ultimately find our hope.

There is great confusion over this question, yet it is thee most important question to ever be asked. In our text today, Paul answers this, leaving no doubt to who Jesus is and what that means for us.

Colossians 1:9-14

As we begin a new series on Colossians, we will look at the context surrounding why the apostle Paul wrote this letter and see that at the root of his thankfulness for this church, is the gospel hope that Christ is above all things.

The mission of God starts with God's generosity towards the world, is fueled by God's generosity working through us, proclaims God’s generosity for us, and ends with God’s generous and guaranteed victory on our behalf.

Someone once said, “nothing can describe our real priorities like our checkbooks.” Money, like most things, can consume us or drive us to bless others. What kind of relationship do you have with money? Are you generous or greedy? Today, Jesus gives us a dire warning and some encouraging realities about money and wealth. Come, let's learn from God's word today!

We live in a consumeristic world. It's easy to get caught up in "what's in it for me" without really thinking twice about it. What might Jesus think of our consumeristic attitudes?
