Love ebbs and flows. Love grows and fades. That’s true in human relationships as it can be true with our relationship w/ Jesus. So, what causes this? What can we do about it? Fortunately, Jesus has some answers for us today!

Apocalyptic writing is a literary style that we may not be used to but carries rapturous illustrations that can help us understand spiritual realities in the present. The description of Jesus in Revelation 1 is intended to reveal the character of Christ and energize His church’s confidence in Him.

When you have to wait for something, how patient are you? At the end of the 1st Century, the apostle John is reminded that King Jesus would return to rule & reign. Yet, we are still waiting. What gives us a sure hope to believe today? What should life as a Christ follower look like until that day? Let’s dig into God’s word and see!

How do you act when the person in charge isn’t looking? In the final pages of Nehemiah, the leader of God’s people heads out of town for a while. While away, how do the people of God do? God is telling a story written throughout time and He works through people to accomplish His good proposes. We call the progress of this story the Providence of God and it has empowered God’s people through all ages.

It’s a beautiful thing for God’s word to bring about conviction, confession, worship, and a renewed commitment on paper. But, “talk is cheap.” Real revival brings real change to our everyday lives. Today, the people of God get granular about life change. Buckle up this morning as we get specific about potential areas of change in our lives as well!

We often hear the word “revival” tossed around in Christian circles. But, what does genuine revival really look like? Not look like? In today’s text, we see the biblical marks of revival with God’s people. As we learn, let’s ask the Lord to bring heart revival to our lives as well!

As soon as the wall around Jerusalem is completed, the work inside the walls begins. However, this work is not focused on building physical structures. This work is on restoring the spiritual heart of the people through the Law.

Do you believe you need God’s help? We often have to fail in our own strength to see our need for God’s help. Today we see God’s work completed through God’s people. But will the opposition stop? Is the work of God in the people of God really finished? Or, is God just getting started? Great truths from God’s word today!

Charles Sturgeon said that If you would sum up the whole character of Christ in reference to humanity, that it must be said that "He was moved with compassion.” Let us look at the compassion of Christ toward us and how we are to do likewise to our fellow-man.

Scripture warns us that Satan is scheming against the people of God. But, if we know his methods and our God who fights for us, we are more prepared to resist him. If God has ever called you to start something, the starting is often the fun part. The stick-to-it perseverance is often the challenge. Today, Nehemiah encounters opposition from without and from within. How will he & the people of God respond? Nehemiah 3 records God’s people coming together to do an impossible task. With Gods help they begin the rebuilding of the wall. While some may skip over this chapter, there is a deep spiritual implication for the Church today. Let us look at how this can story can encourage us in what God has called us to do today.

Nehemiah has the green light to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the wall. But he needs God’s people who are deeply discouraged to join in the work. As a godly leader, what’s Nehemiah to do? How will he motivate them? Come, let’s learn some timeless truths from God’s word this morning!

Godly leadership can be a challenging task. We want to trust God & take action. We want to take risks, but we must be calculated. We want to serve & lead. Godly leadership calls for God’s wisdom! Notice God’s wisdom at work in Nehemiah’s life today as He seeks to serve His King. Consider how his example might influence your leadership for His glory and others good!

This morning, we look at a more ancient source to understand leadership, godly leadership. Lets dive in and see how God shapes and molds godly leaders for His purposes!

In life we can have the tendency to live in the theoretical while not putting into practice what we know. In his epistle to the Romans Paul exhorts the church to be a living sacrifice to God based on his wonderful mercy he has shown.
