Habakkuk the prophet speaks into the theme of suffering, justice and unanswered prayer.  Part one of four deals with Habakkuk's complaints to God

On Easter Sunday, we read the account of Jesus restoring Peter, revealing the power of the Resurrection to transform lives.

The story of a man who had got stuck.  His life was the same day after day after day, until he met Jesus and then everything changes.

The Mother of James and John prays to Jesus.  Jesus says "no" and uses the question to teach his disciples about true greatness in the Kingdom of God, persecution and Jesus' mission.

What does Jesus teach his disciples about marriage, divorce and singleness in Matthew 19.  This is a challenging passage, but we need to take Jesus' teaching seriously and not shy away from the harder passages of the Bible.

Our God is gloriously and wonderfully merciful, so Christians should also be gracious and forgiving. This is what Jesus teaches his disciples in Matthew 18.

Jesus retells the Parable of the Lost Sheep speaking to his disciples and he goes on to outline how churches ought to handle sin amongst its members.

The words we use are powerful to change lives positively and negatively.  Sometimes words spoken to us in the past still carry hurt, pain and keep us from living the life God would have us lead.  Jeff helps us unpack the power of words and preaches on freedom from past hurts.

The disciples argue and jostle for greatness, but when they ask Jesus, he challenges them to have the humility of a child and goes on to teach them about seriousness of sin.

A bizarre, but miraculous, story about tax and fish reveals a lot about the power of Christ and the freedom of being a child of God.

Duncan continues our sermon series in the Gospel of Matthew, as we read the story of Jesus revealing his heavenly glory to three of his disciples in the Transfiguration.

What will happen in 2022?  And what will you do?  These questions, though important are far less important than the question Jesus asks his disciples in Matthew 16 - "Who do you say I am?"  This passage reveals that Jesus is King, God, Saviour and Leader.

The final miraculous birth leading up to Christmas and Jesus' birth is the birth of John the Baptist, who prepares the way of the Lord.  His mission was to turn people back to God so they might receive Jesus when he came after him.

We continue our Advent series looking at the birth of Samuel, the deep distress of his Mother, Hannah, and her prayer of faith.  We finally consider how all this relates to Jesus Christ and the Christmas story.

As we begin our Advent sermon series, how does the birth of Samson pattern Jesus' birth in the New Testament and who is the angel of the LORD?  Judges 13 gives us fresh faith in Jesus as Saviour and Messiah and calls us to believe in God for fresh stirrings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

The story of Nehemiah isn't just the story of a return from exile and rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem.  It's also a story of a revival of religion.  In chapter 10, this revival involves recommitting to the mosaic Covenant and in this sermon we consider how New Covenant Christians should think about the Old Covenant commitment in Nehemiah 10.

In Nehemiah 9, the teachers of the law retell the History of Israel and there is a recurring pattern - God's faithfulness, human sinfulness and God's mercy.  This cycle of history is repeated throughout Israel's history, throughout World history and throughout individual lives.

After the wall is completed, God moves in Jerusalem.  The people have a revival of hunger for God's Word, joy in the Lord and obedience to the law in the Old Testament.  As they celebrate the Feast of Booths, we celebrate the Feast of the Lord's Supper together.

After already facing serious opposition, Nehemiah comes under attack again in chapter 6.  He stands his ground, refuses to sin and finishes strong, with the help of God.

Nehemiah cares for the poor and needy people in Jerusalem, taking political action and acting generously himself.  His love for the downtrodden comes from a fear of God and reflects God's own deep love and compassion towards the poor.

How should Christians handle opposition?  In Nehemiah 4, the people of Jerusalem demonstrate a dependence on prayer, a focus on God's strength and vigilance which enables them to overcome intense opposition.  The story also foreshadows Christ overcoming the opposition he himself faced.
