Chinney Tells A Story

In this first realy sidebar of season 5, episodes 1-6 are broken down. The story has moved a little slowly, but laying that groundwork was essential to building Antonio's character. Just give it a second. Lol.

In this pre-sidebar, Chinney discusses the motivation behind the creation of The Keepsake Box series, and the lessons that have been learned along the way. Have you ever just woken up and said: "I get it now!"?

After spending the weekend at Brenda's, trouble finds Antonio again . As a result, he ends up in an unexpected situation. That starts the process of Antonio losing some things and learning some hard lessons--whether he knows it or not.   

It's 1981, and Antonio is 13 years old. Feeling that his father would want him to, Antonio starts spending time with Brenda. In doing so, he uncovers secrets that completely shatter what he has believed to be true.

The situation between Antonio's parents has been the subject of neighborhood gossip. Never shying away from the difficult conversations, Antonio's mother takes the opportunity to shut it down. She takes the opportunity to shut Antonio down as well. 

Antonio continues to rebel after his father leaves the home. Tired of his antics, his mother makes a judgement call that places him in an uncomfortable position. More truths about his father are revealed. 

Antonio experiences a major life change. Overcome with anger, he begins to act out. The truth of the situation is far different that what he expected.

Antonio's starts the process of integrating us into his life, and we start to understand where some of his personality derives. 

This is the story of a man who seems like the ultimate alpha male. Antonio lived his life as the leader of a hierarchy. Always confident and in charge, he protects, provides, and makes the decisions. With power and prestige, one can be placed atop the world. That same power can be detrimental in the wrong hands, and others may end up paying the price.  Welcome to Season 5 of The Keepsake Box! This is my 10th book!!!!

In this final full episode of the KEN story, the fallout of the robbery plays out. We also get some very important insight into something that has been lingering since the end of Shelonda's story.

Fresh on the heels of a simultaneously successful and unsuccessful bank robbery, KEN is confronted with another set of unexeptected circumstances. But surprisingly, someone is there to help carry the load. 

KEN is on a mission. After getting most of the money, he settles on a plan with Pops to get the rest. But an unforseen set of circumstances puts him on a collision course with fate. Once again, KEN has to claw his way out of a situation.

KEN finds that he's in a tough spot after Rob steps out of line. And as usual, he has to do what he has to do.

This sidebar covers episodes 20-24. KEN seems to be getting his life on track, but there always seems to be trouble lurking. And this time, somebody else actually causes the trouble for him.

KEN finds out that Mia is keeping another secret, one that's more consequential than the other's. KEN tries to fix things, but the outcome is much worse than he could ever have anticipated.

KEN and Mia have parted ways, but she hasn't stopped making life difficult for him. But it's much bigger than petty arguments this time.

KEN starts settling in comfortably after prison. Things are going well until an intervention complicates things in the best and worst of ways.

KEN is finally released from prison. He catches up on everything that transpired while he was away and learned how a little bit of time can make a whole lot of difference.

KEN settles into prison life with the expectation to peacefully do his time. He receives an introduction, however, that will change the entire trajectory of his life.

In this sidebar, Chinney covers episodes 15-19. We realize that KEN's issues are deeply rooted. We also get the chance to match his story with the parts of Shelonda's that we may have forgotten. 

KEN's habits get the better of him, resulting in tumultuous relationships with everyone around him. Consequently, he finds himself in a familiar place.

KEN is excited about spending time with Shelonda since she's no longer under her parents' thumb. But he makes a judgement call when he sees something that he doesn't like, and that throws the plans out of whack--as usual.

KEN is finally released from jail, and Hotboi catches him up on the drastic changes that have taken place within the crew.

KEN has to face the consequences of his attack on Ron. He gets a couple of surprises while he's in jail. Ma and Pops finally receive their time.  Ps, I'm still working out the recording kinks. Please bear with me.
