God was faithful to bless Jacob and his family while Laban was cheating him out of his wages. We have to trust God and follow him when people are treating us unfairly.

God grows Jacob's wealth because He is gracious and kind and has a purpose for making his house strong. We've got to trust that He is doing all things well.

Jacob's family was dysfunctional and his wives were at war with each other. Yet, God brought blessing into that unsettled home.

Laban sinned against Jacob and didn't give him the wife that he had promised. Rather, he gave Jacob Leah, Rachel's older sister. Jacob had to endure in a most difficult situation.

Jacob met Rachel according to God's providence and grace.

God confirmed his reaffirmed His covenant with Abraham to Jacob while he pursued his wife. The fulfillment of God's promises depends solely on His faithfulness.

Esau held onto his grudge and refused to forgive his brother, mother, and father, and it costed him happiness and joy.

Esau plotted revenge on Jacob because Jacob tricked him. The problem is that revenge never makes anything better. It just gets worse.

Jacob tricked Esau and stole his blessing from Isaac. Esau's only hope was to trust God in it all.

The Lord always keeps his promises. he blessed Isaac because of his promise to Isaac's father, Abraham.

Isaac was afraid of what might happen to him if he told the truth about his wife Rebekah. So, he lied to the king and said she was his sister instead of trusting God with the truth.

Isaac was tested in the same way his father Abraham was. This shows us that trials come to us to test our faith. Will we be faithful?

Esau was caught up in his short-term desires and sold his birthright to his brother Jacob without regard to his future.

Esau and Jacob's births are proof that God wills to work all things according to his plan and he has the power to do it. He can bring life where there is none.

The end of an era came when Abraham and Sarah died, but the will and purpose of God continued on because it depends upon God and His ability to accomplish His will.

God provided a substitute sacrifice for Abraham after Abraham had proved his faithfulness. God always rewards trust and obedience.

God tested Abraham's devotion by requiring Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham showed that nothing was more important to him than God.

It was better for Isaac to be raised by Abraham and Sarah alone, and it was best for Ishmael to be raised by Hagar in the wilderness. Why? Because they both knew the care of God.

God promised Sarah that she would bear a son. She doubted, questioned, feared, but she never lost her faith. God worked in his time.

Like us, Abraham had a pattern of sin that developed in his life. Also, like us, his sin came from a failure to trust God.

God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness, but he had grace on Lot and his family because they trusted him with their lives.

Sodom and Gomorrah were full of unnatural sin and wickedness. Therefore, they were destroyed.

God graciously hears our prayers of intercession act answers them.

The Lord came to Abraham's tent, and he responded with faith, worship, and sacrifice.

God took the initiative to make a permanent covenant with Abraham. Abraham's only acceptable response was faith.
