On Sunday, we kicked off our Christmas series, making or way through the Advent season. This year, our theme is Called 'Behold', as we look into the many ways that beholding takes place in the Christmas narrative. On Sunday, Stuart Hawthorne, Minister of Carnmoney Church, led us in the next part of our series GO. We looked at how God's mission is both an invitation and command , that it is sourced in the incarnation of Jesus and that there are no 'no-go' areas . Matthew 28:16-20

On Sunday, Dave Dickinson continued our new series 'GO', as we looked at the theme of God's People. We are all apart of God's mission for the world, as we live as His people. Dave highlighted that there are 4 marks of God's people; Chosen, Redeemed, Restored & Distinct. Various Readings

On Sunday, we kicked off a brand new series called 'GO', looking at the broad picture of mission. Over the next 5 weeks we will be exploring a range of topics relating God's mission in the world. This week, Helen Warnock kicked us off by looking at mission through the whole spread of Scripture, from Adam to the present day.

On Sunday, we finished our series on our values. Dave Dickinson was with us, sharing on the last of 3 core values - Witness. He remained us that being a witness is less about what we do, and more about who we are. And if we are to be a witness, we need Power , Belonging & Allegiance . Luke 24:45-49 Acts 1:6-9

On Sunday, we continued our series on our values, as Jamie McMillan unpacked the second value that we hold here at Central; Community. On Sunday, Dave Dickinson kicked off a  new series in our core values here at Central.  This was an introductory week, as we looked at the theme of authenticity, and how authenticity on the Inside and Outside is what is needed if we are to bare witness to who Jesus is and what He can do in our world. On Sunday, Dave Dickinson finished off our series on the Holy Spirit. We were looking at how the Holy Spirit gives us Access to God, and how His Spirit becomes a Dwelling Place , were He works. Ephesians 2:11-22

On Sunday, we landed in week seven of our series in the Holy Spirit. Dave Dickinson was unpacking Jesus' words in John 16, as we looked at how the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin.  The Holy Spirit's conviction reminds us that it's not our job , things are worse  than we thought and there is a wide open space. John 16:1-11

As we continued our way through the next part of our series on the Holy Spirit, Dave Dickinson unpacked the theme of Paraklētos , through some of the last words of Jesus before He would go to the Cross. On Sunday, Dave Dickinson was sharing on the work of the Holy Spirit and salvation. We looked at two  stories in John's Gospel; Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman at the well. He highlighted that it is the Spirit that Starts & Shapes , in the work of salvation. John 3:1-10; 4:7-26

On Sunday, Dave Dickinson was back with us, walking us through the next part of our series on the Holy Spirit. This week, we were looking at the Holy Spirit & Jesus, and how the Spirit Authenticates , Affirms & Accompanies Jesus through His ministry, and how the Spirit does the same for us today. On Sunday, John Dickinson continued our series ' Holy Spirit ', as we looked at how the Holy Spirit was alive and active in Creation. Genesis 1:1-3 

On Sunday, Stuart Newburn concluded our series through Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians. Paul signs off this letter with a call to worship. We unpacked that this kind of worship is both Holistic & Holy. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-28

On Sunday, we worked our way through the penultimate part in our series in 1 Thessalonians. Dave Dickinson was sharing on how the Apostle Paul was urging the Thessalonians church towards community that was both Vertical & Horizontal . 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15

On Sunday, Dave Dickinson guided us through the next part of out series in 1 Thessalonians, as we entered the final chapter of the letter. The theme of death continued, as we looked at the topic of the end days, and who Paul urges the Thessalonians (and us) to be as live until the day of Christ's return. On Sunday, Dave Dickinson continued our way through the next part of our series through 1 Thessalonians. This week, the topic that we unpacked was death; an issue that the Thessalonians church were hung up on. On Sunday, we moved into the fifth part of our series in 1 Thessalonians, and Dave Dickinson unpacked the topic of sex, that the Apostle Paul outlined in this letter. As Paul urges the Thessalonians towards God's best, he places a high value on sex, marriage and personhood.  1 Thessalonians 4:3-8  

In the middle of this letter to the Thessalonians, we find a prayer that Paul writes, as he expresses his longing to be with the church in Thessalonica. Helen Warnock was with us on Sunday, unpacking these few verses, challenging us to think about how God might be at work within us, and how He could be calling us into even greater relationship with Him. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-4:2
