Psalm 13 shows us that we can take our fears and doubts to the Lord. We can approach him with our suffering, and He will sustain and keep us. Psalm 13 teaches us Christians how to sing with hope, even when we are entrenched in the trials of this broken world. It also teaches us that the steadfast love of the Lord is trustworthy, and he has indeed dealt bountifully with us in Christ.

We are set free from the power of sin, no longer enslaved to it. Now, we are free. We now use that freedom to voluntarily bind ourselves with chains of love for other people. (Service beings approx 4 1/2 min into the video)

There are wonderful labels out there, but if you follow Jesus none of those are who you are primarily. None of those things are the core of what you are. Make it clear to everyone that Jesus is the core of who you are.

Hosea calls out to us today from ages gone by choose the road of wisdom. Stay on that road.

God's love is different than anything that we have ever experienced. God loves the undeserving. It is not a passing, whatever-you-have-done-for-me-lately kind of love, but a lasting love. His is not the kind of love we are used to, and it is different enough to make us excited again.

We see the peculiar love of God in this passage as he calls us to stay close. We keep our hearts by keeping close to Jesus. (Service begins approx 3.5min into the video)

The resurrection ofJesus gives us greater reason NOT to be afraid. Jesus, by defeating death obliterates all reason to fear.

If you are united to Christ, have you been changed by Good Friday? You have been, so live your life as dead to sin and alive to Christ. Good Friday is yours, and you are free.

Will you let Jesus be King in HIS way and on HIS terms? We serve HIM, not the other way around. Jesus is not just someone to be respected - He is someone to be worshiped and served. He is the King we must all submit to. And He is also a humble and relatable Savior who understands our weaknesses. Serve Him.

Where Israel failed to obey and where we fail to obey, Jesus obeyed. We needed a cure, and we have one in Jesus. We really aren't uncomfortable enough with the idea of the wrath of God. God the father gave up his only son, and crushed him under his righteous wrath. This is how we know love. God loves his church, his people, so much that he gave himself for it.

To understand the PECULIAR love of God we have to ALSO see his PECULIAR patience. He does not lash out in punishment. He offers warning after warning after warning in the face of defiance. The God of the Bible is not a vending machine that his people come to pop a couple prayers in the slot and out comes what you want. God won't be used.
