Jesus begins his public ministry with a bang!  He calls ordinary people to follow him -- and then shows what the life of a disciple will look like.  We follow Jesus through a very long, very busy day -- and learn how he hears from his Father.

For over 2000 years, Jesus Christ has been disrupting the status quo.  Mark records the life and teaching of the Messiah in vivid detail, revealing how Jesus raised up disciples who were then given the charge to change the world.  Jesus and his message of hope are still disrupting lives today. Do you know his story? This is the beginning!

"Go, therefore, and make disciples."  That's a command from Jesus.  So it's kind of important.  But what is a disciple?  And how do you make one?

The word "disciple" is kind of confusing.  We've come to identify "disciple" with a program, class or particular study.  But the New Testament doesn't make a distinction between a Christian and a Disciple.  To be a believer (Jesus-follower) is to be a disciple.  THAT changes things.

Today we begin our series by defining what a disciple is. We look to scriptures to see how Jesus' disciples turned to Him as their lead, made Him their life, and bore the fruit of Jesus. How do we answer the question, "Am I A Disciple?"

The final "Dangerous" prayer is a posture of availability before God.  Jonah and Moses were called by God and said "I'm not going" or "Send someone else".  Isaiah teaches us to live available, "Here I am.  Send me!"

Too often we pray safe prayers. Dangerous prayers are risky and life-stretching. Over the next 21 days we are going to explore some of the dangerous prayers that have been prayed by God's people for thousands of years. We trust God will meet you in a life-changing manner as you pray!

This is probably the MOST dangerous of the prayers we can pray!  We spend much of our lives trying NOT to be broken or weak.  But what if the life of Jesus is our model?  What if Mark 14 illustrates how to live "Broken & poured out" for all of us?

What is God's will for my life?"  Ever ask that question in the middle of a decision moment?  God's will really isn't that mysterious!  In Psalm 143, David teaches us to say, "Lord, teach me to do your will.

The world is big, the world is lost, how can Cascade Church impact this big, lost world?

Where do you want your life to grow in 2019?  What if this were to be a breakthrough year for you?  What is really worth pursuing? Deep in an Old Testament genealogy is a guy who encountered the presence of God -- and nothing was ever the same for him (or his family).  He discovered what was really "worth it."

When God came near that first Christmas -- he wasn't what we would expect.  Rather than a triumphant King, he sent Messiah as a suffering servant.  Because in God's economy, the way up is down!

In this final message in the #NoOffense series, Pastor Nate talks about the importance of living our online presence "thoughtfully, carefully & Biblically."  

How do we handle being mistreated by those with leadership influence (parents, bosses, pastors)?  They should know better, right?  The story of David reveals that it is possible to "respond in the opposite spirit" even when a leader creates an opportunity for offense.

Do you have the right to be offended when you have genuinely been mistreated?  Joseph's story is a profile in forgiveness and finding freedom from offense.  He made a choice to become better rather than bitter.

Why is forgiveness so difficult?  And how often do we have to forgive each other?  Jesus tells a parable in answer to these questions -- and puts forgiveness in perspective.

What made the disciples cry out asking for more faith?  It wasn't seeing the dead brought to life or miracles performed by the Master.  It was Jesus' statement that offenses (skandalon) must be forgiven -- over and over and over again.

Our culture is captivated by offense, and captive to it. Broken relationships, frustration and resentment are all too common. We've somehow forgotten that careless words divide. Is unity and forgiveness even possible in an age of social media sound-bites? Jesus offers peace, forgiveness, strength AND compassion. We can live free and with #NoOffense.  

Jesus tells a story that takes off in an unexpected direction in Luke 16.  The dishonest Manager becomes a lesson in living out the Gospel with great intentionality.  Is it possible to "take your little bit of time and little bit of wealth and leverage it for eternity?"

With the clock ticking on his time here on earth, Jesus provides a living parable.  The cleansing of the temple and the curse of the fig tree are connected!  Fruit is the expected outcome of a relationship with God.
