ENG 333 The Short Story : This short story is actually a chapter from Louise Erdrich’s novel Love Medicine about the lives of two families on a North Dakota Reservation.

ENG 333 The Short Story: This is a short story written by Tillie Olsen in 1961. Its a story of a phone call from her teen daughter’s school and all that it brings up for her. I actually got emotional towards the end of reading this story. May we all be more than the dress and much more than just the iron.

Garcia Marquez is known to mix realistic and fantasitical ideas in his fiction and in the screen adaptation of this story he begins with a quotation from Hebrews 13:2 “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.”
