2 Cor 11:16-33 We are too comfortable. Our comfort has drained us of courage and confidence in God. It’s time for the church to reclaim the confidence in God to risk danger for the sake of the gospel!

Paul, heartbroken as he writes to the church in Corinth, tries a different approach in chapter 11 of 2 Corinthians. He's invested so much time and energy in this congregation and they've been so quick to abandon the truth for a cheap imitation. So, with sadness in his heart and his tongue in his cheek, Paul outlines 4 ways for them to be idiots.

2 Cor. 10:1-18 Our minds are a battleground. We receive thousands of messages every day that tell us who to be and what to think. We fight the battle in our mind by taking every thought captive. We must think through the lens of Christ.

2 Cor. 8:8-9:5 Paul challenges the Corinthians talk of desiring to give. A desire to give opens doors to experience God’s grace. One way evangelism happens is when we live out our faith in our finances. Paul uses Jesus’ sacrifice of His life as an example of how we should sacrifice our finances.

2 Cor. 8:1-7 Paul says giving is a form of grace. When we give God uses it to bless others. The Macedonian Christians didn’t give because they were wealthy, but because it was a sacrifice. They were struggling but still gave an incredible amount to help Paul spread the gospel.

You plug in a destination on your phone. Your app tells you how many miles and hours it will take. Then, you notice there are toll roads…you wonder if you can save money by choosing a differing route. How we spend our money is similar to how we think about toll roads on the highway. How can money help us get where we want to go?

The carpool (or HOV) lane can transform a slow grind through traffic into a fun cruise. As long as you have someone else in the car you can take advantage of this lane. In life, we also want others to go with us. Life is better together. How can we find friends and form friendships?

Work. Most people hate Mondays as evidenced by the slogan and many self-help books dedicated to making your job more enjoyable. What if we have work all wrong? How can we see work as a gift instead of a trap?

We live in a world full of words. Everyone has something to say and wants to say it immediately. This mostly leads to outrage as everyone fights to be heard. Wise people don’t follow the same rules of speech that everyone else does. How can we talk so we are heard?

Wisdom calls out on highways, in the middle of shopping malls, and through your social feed, yet we don’t hear her. She’s asking us to get off the highway fools take and follow her. Wisdom is an exit only because we have to choose it. Why should we choose wisdom?
