Jesus went up to the mountain to pray. It was then that the transfiguration happened. Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep and they almost missed the display of His glory.

Jesus asks the apostles who they think He is. He follows this question up by telling them about his impending rejection and death. Jesus informs them that whoever wishes to follow him must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow him. 

Jesus feeds the five thousand with a handful of fish and barley loaves. I share other scriptures about Gods provision. Jesus always provides for our needs, especially spiritual ones.

A demon-possessed man goes to Jesus. Jesus asks him his name and he replies, "Legion." Jesus casts the demons into a herd of pigs who are driven off of a cliff into water. 

Jesus and His disciples are crossing a lake in a boat. Jesus falls asleep and a storm comes. The disciples panic and wake him up. He asks them,, "Where is your faith?"

Jesus tells the crowd gathered around Him the Parable of the Lamp. It is about the nature of truth. 

Jesus gives the Parable of the Sower, one of the most popular parables in the Bible. 

A sinner pours her heart out at the feet of Jesus. A Pharisee observing that if Jesus knew what kind of woman she was, He wouldn't allow her to do that.  

John the Baptizer sends men to ask Jesus if He is the Messiah. We know from John 1 that John referred to Jesus as the Lamb of God. John was displaying some doubt in his last days. 

Jesus brings a woman's only son back from the dead. His mother would have been a widow and Jesus takes empathy on her. 

Jesus heals a Roman centurion who displays incredible faith. This is remarkable because it s symbolic of the Messiah being very different from expectations. 

Jesus uses a parable of two men who build a house but on different foundations. 

Jesus says that you will know them by their fruit. 

This exhortation is one of the most misquoted and misunderstood verses of the Bible. 

Jesus gives an exhortation that is easy to understand and hard to do but yet is the epitome of faith in action. 

Jesus says proclaims woes on certain people following the Beatitudes. The focus is on material wealth. 

Jesus delivers the Sermon on the Plain, some of the Bible's most famous verses. 

Jesus goes to a mountain and spends all night in prayer before he selects the apostles. Jesus chooses Judas despite his impending betrayal revealing that God does work all things out for the good. 

A man asks Jesus to heal his withered hand. Jesus tells the man to stretch out his hand. Jesus requires something of us. 

Jesus heals on the Sabbath and the Pharisees chastise Him. He reminds them of David and the showbread to illustrate God's expectations of us. 

Some Pharisees ask Jesus why his followers aren't fasting. He uses a parable of a wedding feast to demonstrate his answer. 

Jesus meets Levi the Tax Collector. In the culture at that time, tax collectors were despised and brought shame to their families. Jesus shows his character by choosing him to be the Apostle Matthew.
