Here we find an exhortation from Paul to be mindful of how we are perceived by non-believers. He asserts that our speech should always be gracious and seasoned with salt. 

Paul continues with the obligations of the Christian home by using an often misunderstood relationship which is that of the bondservant and master. 

In this part of the epistle, Paul describes the responsibilities of the Christian home regarding various relationships. 

Paul contrasts the lives of non-believers or the sons of disobedience with those who are born again. He explains that we should put off the old man and walk by the Spirit.

Paul writes here that believers shouldn't condemn one another over what food they eat, what holidays they celebrate or the which day the Sabbath is celebrated. 

Jesus fulfilled the obligations under the law and gives all believers justification and righteousness through faith in His crucifixion and resurrection. 

These verses that Paul wrote are some of the strongest Christological verses. They explain who Jesus is in relation to the Father and why His sacrifice means for believers.

These verses offer some excellent Christology. These verses talk about the divinity of Christ. Paul asserts that all things were created by Jesus and for Jesus in an attempt to refute questions of His equality with the Father.

In this episode, I give the background of the city of Colossae and the context of Paul's letter to the Colossians. The content of this epistle is very similar to Ephesians. Paul's letter opens with verses about the divinity of Jesus in an effort to combat Gnostic influence. 

The book of Ephesians culminates in Paul's instruction to put on the full armor of God. 

Paul moves on from submitting within a marriage to other examples of submission.

Paul describes the biblical duty that husbands and wives have to one another. Women are called to submit to the spiritual authority of their husbands.

Paul describes walking with wisdom and how it ultimately results in submitting to one another in t he fear of God.

Paul here encourages the Ephesians to not only walk in the light but to be a light in a world of darkness.

Paul here give the Ephesians an exhortation to walk as followers of God, not partaking in the ways of non-believers. 

Paul is describing sanctification in these verses. Believers put off the old man and walk by the Spirit as God strengthens the inner man.

Paul describes the unity of the Body of Christ which is a common thread throughout the entire Bible including the Old Testament.

Paul describes how we can be familiar with the love of Christ - that it can be seen and felt.

Paul describes the result of being adopted in the Body of Christ which is boldness and access to Him through faith.

Paul reminds the Ephesians that they were once gentiles in the flesh before being adopted into the Body of Christ.

These verses contain perhaps the most debated verses in the Bible. Here Paul articulates going from being spiritually dead to fully alive.

Paul describes prayers for spiritual wisdom which which ultimately ends in a description of the power of Jesus Christ.

Paul opens his letter with the gospel by describing the Father's many spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ.

Here I give some background information about Paul and the city of Ephesus.

After reminding them of His prophecies, Jesus blessed them and disappeared into Heaven.
