We tend to ask, “Why is this happening to me?” without examining the situation in light of biblical truth. You see, God doesn’t waste pain. He is always working in our lives for our good and for His glory. So in order to know the difference between pruning and discipline, we have to heighten our awareness of God and how He works.

For two years now, people have been using the phrase uncertain times. But as believers we don’t have to live in the unknown or the uncertain because God has given us certain truth. Biblical Christianity is now counter-cultural. Ironically, many churches are no longer taking a Christ-centered approach to being a Christian. Cultural Christianity focuses on what pleases society at large instead of what pleases God. Bucky outlines how to maintain a biblical perspective both culturally and individually.

How do you deal with all that’s going on in our world today? Our minds can begin to fret over any number of things if we don’t focus on God’s sovereignty. He is sufficient for every difficulty we face. He alone is our security in a world filled with work, worry, and war. King David’s words in Psalm 37 help us understand how to overcome anxiety and fear.

Many Christians mistake being busy at church with bearing spiritual fruit. But we were not saved in order to live for Jesus. Rather, we bear fruit as we allow Him to live through us. The key to being fruit-bearing Christians is realizing that we cannot do anything of eternal value on our own. In today’s passage, Jesus tells us how to live an abundant and fruitful life.

The Bible tells us that the latter days will be just like the days of Noah—wicked. So, understanding how Noah lived is helpful for believers today. How did he maintain such strong faith while being surrounded by evil? Having faith during wicked days requires not only hearing God, but acting on what He says.

Shame has become a weapon. It’s used to manipulate or discredit anyone who doesn’t comply with cultural ideology. Of course, Bible-believing Christians are seen as out of step with the times.
