This is the first message in a series called, The Jesus Agenda. This series thoroughly explores the Sermon on the Mount, in which Jesus sets the agenda for how believers should live. Few believers know much about the Millennial Kingdom of Christ. Maybe that’s because there are three different views about what it actually is and when it will take place. So, what do we know for sure about the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ? While Revelation 20 tells us a great deal about the millennium, Old Testament references add to the picture.

There’s a fundamental connection between our spiritual lives and how we think about and handle money. From God’s point of view, our faith and our finances are inseparable. That’s why fifteen percent of what Jesus said in the Bible deals with the topic of money. So, what is the mission of money?

Revelation 20 describes the Great White Throne, where Jesus will judge all who’ve rejected Him. One-by-one, every lost person will stand before the Lord and will be held accountable for their deeds. This chapter reveals the absolute holiness of God, as the only One who can judge sin. 

We often hear people say things like, “I can be a Christian without going to church.” Or, “I attend church online.” But what does the Bible say about going to church? The first century church continually dealt with the issue of idolatry and its dangerous influence. Are idols still an issue in 21st century Christianity? You bet they are! The apostle John gives five areas in a Christian’s life that are impacted by idolatry, even today. So, what is an idol? And how do we guard against the dangers of idolatry? 

Bucky sits down for a conversation with Murray Tilles, founder of Light of Messiah Ministries, and Anna Beth Havenar. They discuss a variety of things concerning Israel in the Bible, as well as the current war between Israel and Hamas.

How do you know if the Christian book you’re reading or podcast you listen to is wholly based on truth? False teachers are extremely active today, and are vessels used by the enemy to create doubt and confusion. That’s why every believer needs to know how to discern truth from deception. The apostle John gives criteria to help us discern whose message is genuinely from God.

Abiding in the anointing is living the Christ-life. In order to live as Jesus lived, we need the Holy Spirit to live in us the way He lived in Jesus. Starting in Revelation 6, we see God’s wrath unleashed on an unrepentant world. These chapters paint a disturbing and somber picture. Wrath is an attribute of God we don’t discuss much. Yet, it’s vital to understanding His character and gives clarity to our purpose.

Hypocrites in church are so common that it’s cliché. Of course, it’s easier to spot hypocrisy in someone else’s life than in our own. So what’s the difference between momentary hypocrisy and constantly pretending to be someone you are not? Today’s passage helps us understand by giving three characteristics of a hypocrite (1 John 2:15-24).

In Heaven, the focus is always on Jesus. And there’s no better picture of this than chapter 5 of Revelation. The scene in Revelation 4 transitions from Earth to Heaven. The chapter can be summed up in one statement—there’s a throne in Heaven and it’s occupied! What does the apostle John’s vision teach us about who God is? And how can this chapter change how we approach everyday life right now?

One of the greatest causes of doubt in the Christian life is unconfessed sin. And persistent sin will cause problematic doubt. Sin can’t break our relationship with Jesus but it can affect our fellowship with Him, which can cause us to doubt our relationship. Today’s message helps us clean up doubt related to unconfessed sin. (1 John 1:5-9)

When we describe a particular church we usually talk about their denomination, their style of worship, and maybe even their ideology. But we seldom think about whether they’re the kind of church Jesus wants. Chapters two and three of Revelation contain seven letters to seven churches. These letters reveal what Jesus wants from His Bride, the Church. (Revelation 2-3)

Have you ever doubted something God says in the Bible? Or maybe you’ve even doubted whether you’re really a Christian. We know that doubt can happen in the Christian life because the apostle John wrote about it. This message launches a new series from 1 John entitled, Defeating Doubt. The key to understanding the book of Revelation is knowing who Jesus is. In the first chapter, the apostle John describes Jesus, as revealed to him in a divine vision. Have you ever noticed that some type of adversity seems to pop up right after a spiritual breakthrough? This really shouldn’t surprise us. Our faith is often tested after a great spiritual victory. In fact, that’s exactly what happened to the disciples after Jesus fed the five thousand. Their experience teaches us a few valuable lessons for when our own faith is tested.

We often talk about going deeper in our faith. We forget that following Christ has more to do with obedience than knowledge. You see, Jesus didn’t make Christianity complicated. It’s simple really. Simply ask Jesus to save you, then simply trust Him to do what only He can do. As we focus on Him instead of our circumstances, we learn to have simple faith.

Christians around the world have a general sense that we’re living in the last days. That should make Daniel 12 of great interest to every believer. This chapter is short and to the point. It could be summarized as, “There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, keep working until your work is done.” So, what is that work? And are you doing it?

Prayer is essential to the Christian life. Yet, it is often a discipline we don’t practice until we’re in crisis mode. Why? We underestimate the power of prayer. Daniel 9 is one of the great prayers in the Bible. In this chapter we learn the keys to productive praying.
