And the church has a hard time ministering to them. So let’s stop being as concerned with them being happy and be concerned about them becoming holy.

Send us Fan Mail Our society has given the name Karen to any person, man or woman, who has a sense of entitlement, a desire and a willingness to complain, and a self-centered approach to life; it is a frustrated selfishness. Sadly we find Karens in the church, and that is the type person Jesus is describing in this passage.

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever had someone in your life who is so encouraging, so helpful, so pleasant, so important that in a world full of difficulties and disappointments, they are like a breath of fresh air? Everybody needs somebody like that. Everybody needs to be somebody like that.

Some stop going to church because they get their feelings hurt or some other disappointment that leads them to leave others in the lurch. Sometimes you discover how much you need Christian fellowship when you don’t have it anymore.

Send us Fan Mail Doubt comes to us all. But how do you combat it? The devil is certainly not going to let up. He assaults us with a never-ending barrage of attacks. But you already have just what you need to fight and to win the war against doubt. And it is found here in the arsenal of the Word of God.

Send us Fan Mail We live in a day where the truth is compromised, corrupted, criticized, and condemned. We must guard it like the special treasure that the Word of God is. We must “Handle the Truth.”  

Send us Fan Mail  The fictional Colonel Nathan Jessep famously told defense attorney Lt. Daniel Kaffee, “You can’t handle the truth!” The truth is…we as Christians must handle the truth wisely, accurately, and faithfully.  

Send us Fan Mail The presence of God makes all the difference in the world. His presence brings peace. His presence brings power. His presence brings purpose … even to those seemingly impossible circumstances. And so we, His people, face that with faith in the Almighty and One True Living God. 

Send us Fan Mail Paul said that we are to live by faith and not by sight. When you face a seemingly impossible situation, that is much easier to say than to do. But there is a sharp contrast (or should be) between a Natural Man and a Spiritual Man. As spiritual men and women, we face even the impossible with faith. 

Send us Fan Mail Jesus told us not to be ashamed of Him in the face of this wicked generation that we live in. Paul has to remind Timothy of the same thing. Maybe you need a good reminder today to face the world for Christ…unashamed.

Send us Fan Mail  Sometimes we struggle with issues of fear and timidity when we are faced with opportunities to serve the Lord. Here in 2 Timothy 1, Paul exhorts Timothy to serve without shame and he uses himself and Onesiphorus as good examples for Timothy to model his ministry after.

Send us Fan Mail  We know that we are to live by faith and not by sight. That’s hard to do when we are overwhelmed by trials. Yet we can learn from one of the Bible’s greatest examples of how to live out a truly marvelous faith. And the example may come from a person you least suspect.

Send us Fan Mail  They say that faith can’t be trusted until it’s been tested. It is certainly true that I discover the depth and strength of my faith when trials overwhelm me. Today we get to look at a man whose faith was so deep and so strong in the midst of trial that even Jesus marveled at him.

Send us Fan Mail We know that God grants to every believer a spiritual gift that we might be equipped to do the work that He has called us to do. If we follow Paul’s instruction to “stir up that gift,” then we need to know how to go about it. 

Send us Fan Mail The 20/80 Rule says that 20% of the people at church do 80% of the work of the church. That is not the way that God designed His church to operate. He has equipped every born-again believer so that each one of us has been “Saved to Serve.” 

Send us Fan Mail Paul said, “I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Paul had physical marks, for sure. But he also bore the marks, the character traits of a follower of Jesus Christ. We too should bear “The Marks of a True Disciple. ” 

Send us Fan Mail The final section of Luke 6 is dedicated to Jesus’ Sermon on the Plain. Here He talks to His disciples about what it means to really be a disciple. We call them “The Marks of a True Disciple.” 

Send us Fan Mail Partnerships are powerful and partnerships are important. Yes, we are to serve the Lord, but not alone. There are those who have gone before us on whose work we build, and there are those who walk beside us who help us build for the future. Paul reminds Timothy of these truths in the extended greeting of this second letter.

Send us Fan Mail There is an old African Proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, walk together.” That is true in the Christian life. We are better in partnership with like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ. Here, Paul talks to Timothy about “The Power of Partnerships.”

Send us Fan Mail Pastor Tim asks, Why is it so critical to hear from God when you are faced with one of life’s big decisions? Because choices have consequences. And whereas you are free to choose whatever choice you want, you are not free to choose the consequences of that choice. 

Send us Fan Mail Pastor Tim states, We face choices every day, and some of those choices are more life-changing than others. Facing difficult decisions cannot be approached haphazardly. So let’s take a look at how Jesus approached a critical decision in His own life and how we too might make right decisions.
