For two and a half years Paul has been on a pilgrimage towards Jerusalem, each stop along the way he is met by those who say, "don't go," and yet he carries on. Join us this week at Bridge Church as we learn from Paul's arrival in Jerusalem to see how following the way of Jesus provides purpose and clarity, even when it seems like everything in our past and present is working against us.

Life is filled with transitions. Graduating kids, new jobs, retirement, ministry leaders come and go - how do we find our bearings in a world where nothing seems to stay the same? When Paul bid adieu to the Ephesian elders, how was he able to move on to the next stage of his life?

While many would attest to wanting to see more freedom and hope in their lives, the truth is that even good change can be challenging to process. When the Gospel's power in Ephesus was upending the local economy, those resistant to change came after the believers. Where is God in the middle of change? How can we seek and trust Him while others are uncomfortable... or hostile? 

First century events in the city of Ephesus show that the Gospel is best served by people with humble hearts, as the Holy Spirit opens doors in many, and sometimes surprising, ways.

After a season of intense ministry, Paul rolled into Corinth exhausted and full of bruises. Even though Corinth had a reputation for being a place filled with chaos, God brought encouragement & peace for Paul through a season of stability. In the times of our lives where we feel worn out, how can we find encouragement to feed our souls?

When confronted and criticized in our community, it can be very difficult for the critics and the criticized to make use of critical thinking skills, but NOT a critical spirit. How are these different? Why is this so important? How can we learn to do better?

While many would say the idea of God's wrath makes them feel uncomfortable, an equal amount (or maybe more) people would reluctantly admit His gracious Love makes them more uncomfortable. Even today, God is still setting us free from our cultural or religious programming that naturally excludes people unlike us.

Without the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit we can become shells or shadows of who God intended us to be. Whether paralyzed, dead or hollowed out, the Lord Jesus speaks to our condition with the words "Get Up!" He takes us by the hand and presents us to the world as agents of His continued transformation.
