What is the cost of shepherding the flock?

In Jesus I get a picture of the greatest heart that ever walked this planet. I get a picture of the heart of the Good Shepherd. God meant what he said in Jeremiah…He gave a Shepherd who loves us completely. Jesus performs the greatest act of shepherding ever done…He lead us into the richest pasture there is… the Father’s heart.

In John 10:11 Jesus gives us a picture of how this looks… I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Jesus has set the bar high… to pastor, to shepherd like Jesus is to live a sacrificial life.
