This week, we continue our Lent series, Again and Again, following the curriculum from A Sanctified Art. Drawing from Mark 8:27-38, we look how our own understandings of Messiah might limit us in seeing the fullness of God and the invitation into God's community. Perhaps denying ourselves might mean to deny our desire to remain by ourselves, resisting the call into community. 

Today, we launch our Lent series, Again and Again, following the curriculum from A Sanctified Art. Drawing from Mark 1:9-15, we look at the greatest temptation according to the author: to think that God is not present. 

This week, we finish our sermon series, Life of Faith. Looking at Hebrews 13, we are reminded that the foundation of how we are called to live out our faith is through love - love for one another and love for the stranger. 

This week, we welcome Rev. Jasper Peters of Belong Church in Denver, Colorado, who continues our sermon series, Life of Faith. Drawing from Hebrews 12:18-29, Jasper challenges us to overcome obstacles and navigate disruptions in our lives! 

This week, we continue our sermon series, Life of Faith, and turn to Hebrews 11:29-12:2. As we continue to explore what a life of faith might look like for us as individuals and as a community, we look at the legacy of those who have gone before us as we continue on our journeys.

Today, we launched a new sermon series, Life of Faith. Trusting that God desires relationships with us and invites us to be with God on this journey that is a life of faith. Turn to Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16 and ask the questions: Why do we choose to be on this journey? Why do we choose this life of faith? 

This week, Pastor Joe wraps up our sermon series "One Small Thing," by looking at Simeon and the prophet Anna, who met Jesus soon after his birth (Luke 2:22-40). As we think about all the ways we all can do One Small Thing, perhaps God is inviting us to be intentional in our praise and prayer.

This week, Pastor Joe launches our 2022 Vision Series,  "One Small Thing." How might God be inviting each of us to do one small thing so that we might see healing, restoration and love in our broken and hurting world? This week, we look to the story of the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, who defied Pharaoh's orders from Exodus 1:8-22.

This week, we conclude our two week series, "Reflections from Two Trees." Our Director of Program Ministries, Celeste Deveney, preaches from Revelation 21:1-4 and 22:1-7 as she challenges us to look to this new year and beyond with hope, dreaming of ways to becoming Christ in the Community.

As we close out this 2021 and look towards 2022, we launch a quick two-week series based on the Two Trees that bookend the Bible. This week, end our Advent Series, Waiting Well, by turning to the story of Joseph found in Matthew 1:18-25.  As we draw closer to Christmas and celebrating Christ's birth, Pastor Joe invites us to think about how we respond when we are surprised by God in our waiting.

This week, we turn to John the Baptist and continue in our Advent sermon series, Waiting Well. As we are called to wait in this holy season, Pastor Joe asks why we even wait at all? Drawing from Matthew 11:2-11, we look for the glimpses of God's Beloved Community in the here and now!

This week, Bothell UMC's Interim Youth Coordinator, Connor Walden, preaches from Matthew 3:1-12, as he continues our Advent Series, Waiting Well. In this sermon, Connor reminds us the importance of intentionality in our waiting amidst the busyness of our lives and challenges us to find time to be.

Drawing from Leviticus 25, she challenges us to re-imagine our money story, including examples from Theo's Chocolate, the Washington Poor People's Campaign, and our own Bothell Urban project! 

On today's episode, Pastor Joe sits down with Rev. Ric Shewell, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Portland, Oregon. Together, they talk about Ric's journey in ministry, the connection of education and science with religion, and how a medical incident involving Ric's daughter has shaped his ministry.

Today, Pastor Joe continues our generosity series called Our Money Story as we focus on the word "release". Drawing from Deuteronomy 15:1-11, we listen for how God might be calling us to release the ways society expects us to have relationship with money and to live into God's money story!

On today's episode, Pastor Joe talks with Pastor Joel Rodriguez about his faith journey, serving as an immigrant from Central America in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout the conversation, he invites us to explore a faith that is about liberation and challenges us to live out our faith through that liberated lens. 

This week, Pastor Joe launched our new series on generosity called Our Money Story. We all have our own money stories, and often, these are stories we don’t tell. Society has conditioned us to keep money separate from other aspects of our lives, but what if we told our money stories as part of God’s money story? This week, we focus on "remember" and draw from Exodus 16:1-18. 

On today's episode, Pastor Joe sits down with the Rev. Janelle Kurtz, pastor of Snohomish United Methodist Church. Together, they talk about some of the challenges of ministry, the stigma of mental health, and Janelle's own story of navigating postpartum depression.
