Bookkish With Two K's

While this book is seemingly primed to be the ultimate October read, it turns out, Sarah Beth Durst may have just been writing a cozy fantasy😅Don’t get me wrong, there’s baking, enchanted flying cats, and spells a plenty, but the pumpkin vibes were very much lacking. That being said, it seems like readers are very much divided when it comes to this book! What did you think? Also don’t be afraid t...

Book one will air on Monday, July 13th, so make sure to start reading as tho...

If you’ve been with us since season one, you’ll remember that one of our first books was The Midnight Library , By Matt Haig, so naturally we HAD to read his next Midnights release! If you ignore the romance, it was actually a really enjoyable book, unfortunately, this book is a romance, so there’s that… And while typically we’re suckers for a dual timeline, in this case it lead to us wanting to be abandoned in the midst of a world war instead of reading the romance between Georgia and Noah. All of that to say, we are nervous for the future of The Empyrean Series. In other ne...

Listen along as Kaitlyn and Kendra discuss the highly anticipated book two of the Shield of Sparrows trilogy! While the romance may have taken a back seat, the plot sure kept us going! Though Kaitlyn and Kendra were both intrigued while reading the book, upon finishing it, we found ourselves left with not only the burden of drawing our own conclusions regarding the plot, but the responsibility to tie meaning and purpose to the story as well. But according to Goodreads, we are definitely in the minority! What did you think? Also don’t forget to pick up your copy of Rites of the S...

Not a Greek mythology, but arguably an AP Lang persuasive essay topic contender. What one of us read as fantasy, the other interpreted as more of a speculative mystery! There were several aspects of this thriller that had potential, the concept, the switching perspectives, the compelling backstory, and even a few fun gotcha moments. But in the end, there was one major faux pas that overshadows the rest of this book. Can you guess what it is? In other news, Kaitlyn and Kendra have selected Piranesi , By Susanna Clarke, as the next read. So don’t forget to pick up...
