Blood Orange: We are SO Pretentious

In this week's episode, we talk about couture. It's Season 3 episode 9 of Project Runway and the designers are in Paris and they're given a massive two-day challenge. We largely disagree with the judges. 

This week we have a special guest from Gen Z to tell us what was wrong with the clothes back in 2006. As for the episode, the designers were given the task of creating a look for a jet setter. A big advantage to the designers who have traveled before! We also talk extensively about what was wrong with Sex and the City and how Forgetting Sarah Marshall is the perfect break-up movie. 

This week we watched Project Runway season 3 episode 7. The designers have to design for their fellow designers' moms and sisters. Personalities clash. We also talk about how awful Jeffrey is and the time Caitlins' brother called her from a Colorado radio show. 

This week we watched season 3 episode 6 of Project Runway, the unconventional challenge! The designers have to use all recycled materials to make their looks. It's a lotta paper. A couple of them paint their paper with varying levels of success and disaster. We go off on tangents and at one point my dog pooped on the floor (I cut that out).

This week we watched season 3 episode 5 of Project Runway. The designers have to modernize a fashion icon but there's a twist! The models will pick the icon AND the designer they want to work with. We also talk about Christmas, Covid, and the fact that there were, in fact, two completely different Hepburns. 

This week Caitlin and Christina talk about Season 3 Episode 4, an episode that has gone down in Project Runway history! One of the designers has been caught cheating. We also talk about Project Runway for Wii, Burning Man, and Caitlins' sons' new habit of running out the front door to look at Christmas decorations. 

This week we talk about season 3 episode 3 of Project Runway. In this episode, the designers have to create a look inspired by a little dog and then make an outfit for the dog too! Other topics we cover: The Rocky and Bullwinkle live-action movie, Christmas stockings, international grocery stores, The Simpsons, and Sex in the City. 

This week the designers are challenged with making a pageant gown! And they have to work in teams! We have strong opinions about who SHOULD have gone home. 

We're back with all new designers. Caitlin remembers some of them but Christina is pretty sure she completely blocked out the memory of season 3. The designers tear apart their apartments (like animals) for the material to make their first design and some of them are already scheming. 

This week we finish up season 2 of Project Runway. A double episode so it's a long one! We also talk about literally every other thing that happened in the past week because we're incapable of staying on topic. 

This week we talk about the Project Runway season 2 reunion. All the designers get together with Heidi and Tim and talk about the highs and lows of the season. We also go on a hunt from episodes of On the Road with Austin and Santino, does anyone remember that show?

On this week's episode, the designers had to make a dress that would represent the line they intend to make for fashion week, if they get to the finals! We are in agreement that none of the dresses are as fantastic as they could have been. What is it with this show and contestants choking at the end?! 

On today's Blood Orange We are SOOOO Pretentious, we talk about Project Runway season 2 episode 10, the one where they design for each other. The judges kick out the wrong person, again. Then we talk about a book we're going to write. Don't steal our idea, please. 

On this week's episode, we're watching season 2 episode 9 of Project Runway, the unconventional challenge! Tim Gunn takes the designers to several flower shops to get their dress supplies. We also talk about writing bad book reviews and probably other things I've already forgotten about. 

In this week's episode, the designers are given cameras and let loose on new york. Also, Zulema sabotages herself. 

Good morning world. This week the designers meet up with Sasha Cohen and design a skating outfit. We vigorously disagree with the decision made by the judges. We also talk about computer problems and vegan meat alternatives. 

The designers work in pairs this week to design an outfit for Banana Republic and TWO are going home :O Then Caitlin tells a story about being a teenager in a rural town and being invited to a party in a barn so Christina had to spend half an hour cutting names out so no one is incriminated by anything. On today's episode, we talk about the dresses the designers made for Nicky Hilton. We laugh about some early 2000s trends (where were everyone's eyebrows???) and then we go on a tangent and chat about life and travel. 

On this week's episode, the designers have to suck up to Heidi. She picks 4 team leaders to lead groups of 3 designing a 3 piece collection of lingerie. There's fighting. In this week's episode of Blood Orange: We are SOOO Pretentious we talk about Project Runway Season 2 Episode 3. In this episode, the designers have to make outfits for Barbie! We talk about our love for Barbie, our favorite Barbies, and a bit of drama and design. Also a tangent about books. 

Hello fashionistas and featured worse dress lists, we're back to talk about season 2 episode 2 of Project Runway. Is there drama in this episode? Always. Do we disagree about the looks? Usually. Do we go on tangents? I can't actually remember but it's highly likely. 

We disagree with each other and with the show's judges about the ones picked to go out. We also talk about experiences applying for reality shows, Britney Spears, Scooby-Doo, and probably about 40 other topics because we’re queens of the tangent. Also, for the first time ever we bring on a couple of members of Gen Z to tell us their thoughts of these fashions from before they were born. These kids...

We did it. We finished the first season. We talk about the drama surrounding fashion week and how ready we are for season 2. Tangents include Mary Kate and Ashley, how much it sucks waiting for AAA, and 20 minutes about people we know at the end. We understand if you skip that but it makes us laugh so we're leaving it in. 

We talk about Project Runway Season 1, episode 10: The Reunion. All the eliminated contestants meet up with the final three and Heidi and Tim and talk about their experience on the show. That's about half this episode. The rest of it we spend talking about Britney Spears. #freebritney

It's the last challenge before New York Fashion Week. We discuss how unfortunate Nancy O'dells taste in fashion is and mourn the loss of what was almost an incredible finale.
