Blood Orange: We are SO Pretentious

We talk about Season 5 Episode 6 of Project Runway. The designers are working with Drag Queens this week. We also talk about what our drag/soap opera name would be, Paris fashion week, and our favorite cheesy Christmas movies. 

This week we watch season 5 episode 5 of Project Runway. Brook Shields meets up with the designers and challenges them to create a look for her show Lipstick Jungle. It's a team challenge and none of the designers like each other. We also talk briefly about early 2000's fashion and the movie The Boy Who Cried Werewolf. 

This week we talk about Season 5 Episode 4 of Project Runway. Apolo Ohno is there to challenge the designers to design a look for the summer Olympics opening ceremony. Were some of the designers sabotaged? Can we stop talking about Burning Man? Who is Mr. Beast? We don't answer any of these questions today.

Today we're watching Season 5 Episode 3 of Project Runway. The designers are dragged out onto a New York City tour bus and challenged to photograph the nightlife and then use their chosen photo as inspiration for their look. 

Today we watch season 5 episode 2 of Project Runway, in which the models are in charge. Do the models know what kind of fabric to buy? Will any of them remember to buy closures? Why hasn't Swatch the dog made an appearance yet? 

We're back with season 5 of Project Runway and there are SO MANY new designers. How will we remember all these names? We start the season with the best challenge of all, the unconventional challenge. We're back at the grocery store from season one. Are this seasons designers smart enough to be innovative and NOT just get things made of fabric? No, no they are not.

Is anyone else relieved to get to a finale? That means new contestants next week! But this week we are talking about the Project Runway season 4 finale. We break down the looks from the final three designers' fashion week shows and probably go on many random tangents. 

Today we chat about Season 4 Episode 13 of Project Runway. It's part 1 of the finale and the judges finally pick between Rami and Chris. Did the judges make the right choice? 

This week we watched and chatted about the Project Runway season 4 reunion. This must be where the impression that Christian said fierce all the time came from. Now on to the finale...

This week we watched season 4 episode 11 of Project Runway. Tim Gunn took the designers to the MET and have them each pick out a piece of art that they will base their next look on. This is definitely one of our favorite challenges. 

This week on Blood Orange WASP we watch season 4 episode 10 of Project Runway. The designers make new costumes for the women of WWE. We also entreaty Adam Lambert to put out another solo album. 

This week the designers have to run and grab every pair of jeans they can get their hands on as the material for their challenge. Jillian and Victorya go head to head in a trench coat off, neither was as good as the one they made on the previous challenge. 

We chat about Season 4 episode 8 of Project Runway, it's an avant-garde team challenge, yikes! It brings out a couple of absolutely iconic looks, not to mention the best pairing since curry and cauliflower. We also end up talking about an awkward photo, I'm not sure how that came up. 

Today we're talking about Season 4 Episode 7 of Project Runway, the designers make prom dresses! This was a fantastic episode. We flashback to our own prom and then spend a while talking about Ed Hardy, the early 2000s was a time, ya know?

Things get sweet on Project Runway this week as we watch Season 4 episode 6. It's the unconventional challenge! The designers are tasked with designing a look based entirely out of material they picked up from the Hershey's store. 

This week we watched Season 4 episode 5 of Project Runway. The designers have to use an old favorite outfit as material to create an everyday look for a regular woman. We also get a bit of an unplanned twist. We probably also go off-topic but to be honest, we recorded this a week ago and I don't remember what random stuff we might have been into last week. This week we watched Season 4 episode 4 of Project Runway. The designers had to pick an outdated trend to modernize and then (gasp!) they had to work in teams and combine their trends. It had so much promise and the designers played it way too safe. We also talk about the Oscar's slap heard 'round the world. Yeah, we're old news. 

This week we watched Season 4 episode 3 of Project Runway. The designers had to design an outfit for Tiki Barber. It's a short episode this week because there are only so many things we can think to say about another dark suit coming down the runway. Menswear really needs a renaissance. Where are the Jacobean ruffs? Where are the kilts? 

On todays episode of Project Runway, the designers were challenged with designing for a fashion icon... and this time it actually was an icon. We're talking A list. And the designers did not bring their A game. We also give completely unrelated book recommendations. 

This week we are starting season 4 of Project Runway. This season is filled with some of the series' most iconic moments plus, the legend himself, Christian Siriano. We also talk about bridesmaids' dresses and Burning Man. 

This week we catch up with what the Season 3 designers have been doing for the past two months, follow the drama as there is an accusation of cheating and then watch their final show. Did the right designer win?

This week we watched the Project Runway season 3 reunion. There was a tiny bit less drama than in reunions past but we still found lots of things to talk about. And of course, there was an appearance by Daniel Franco, as we should all expect by now. To be honest, I don't remember what tangents we went on but I guarantee there are a few. 

Need a hint? They choke. This week we're talking about Season 3 Episode 11 of Project Runway. It's the last episode before the grand finale and we find out who is going to New York Fashion Week. We also talk about American Girl dolls. 

What would Project Runway be without inane twists designed to drive contestants crazy? A straightforward show about fashion and clothing design? We can't have that. This week we talk about season 3 episode 10. Two previous contestants are back to try for another chance at Olympus fashion week, the designers have a limited color pallet, and what was that about any cutting bigger than a postcard? Ch...

This is what happens when we don't talk for two weeks. We ended up spending the first 40 minutes recording talking about everything BUT Project Runway.
