Bimbo Book Club

Happy Halloween Bimbos! As a treat to you all, we’re bringing back a season 1 favorite: Christian’s vs Halloween! How do evangelicals deal with something not for them?? Make it about them, duh! Buckle up as we review Christian Halloween Alternatives, debate how much evangelism is acceptable on Halloween, and… read scripture?? (If this episode is not for you, all good! See ya next week 🫶) linktr.e...

Let's all get tucked in and oiled up for this week's viewing! Happy Halloween Bimbos! As part of our Halloween series, we dove into A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. This movie is camp and corny, but it funded the rest of the Elm Street Franchise and holds a very special place in queer horror fan's hearts. The subtext is hardly sub, the characters are queer coded, the focus on interna...

Hey guys, it’s us, Bimbo Book Club- yuh! After years of bad Ariana Grande impressions, she’s finally getting her time in the BBC spotlight. Unfortunately, it is for Donutgate. In 2015, Ariana Grande licked a donut (ew) and said she hated America (slay) BUT there were ~undertones~ of body shaming that don’t sit right with us. However, 10 years later, we see it a bit differently. We will assess the...

So maybe this is our 51st episode, but we're choosing to celebrate our 50th today (we didn't realize last episode whoops). This week we are diving into a fundamental component of bimbo lore, the first project we ever book clubbed: The Other Two. This comedy not only cracks us up, but- for better or for worse- it makes us feel SEEN. Join us as we navigate this minefield of a show and giggle to our...

LISTEN. We love theme parks. Disney or not. If it’s been covered by Defunctland, we’ve discussed. So, this week we broke down the queerest media available: Universal Studios Florida’s Epic Universe. Jade did some boots (🏳️‍🌈) on the ground reporting, and Bertrude has watched every piece of content available on the park. From Darkmoore to the Isle of Berk, we’ve diving into the good, the bad, and...

Once Upon a Time two bimbos entered an unfamiliar realm and attempted to make sense of it all…. Bertrude watched the first 5 seasons of Once Upon a Time, Jade did not. But, as a love letter to the 22 episode season of American television, Bertrude is walking us through all the ways the divas in charge of this show tried to keep it fresh. Yes, Peter Pan is Rumplestilsken’s father. Yes, Captain Hook...

A hot new bombshell has entered the villa- and its Bertrude in a bye-bye vest, because this week Jade is filling them in on all things from Love Island US Season 8. Titi should be in jail- we know that. Sincere should be shipped off to an island of men- we know that. Zach is gay- duh. Join us as we try to support what the choose to not keep behind closed doors and celebrate one (1) straight couple...

In 2012, Keke Palmer, Jeremy Jordan, Dolly Parton, and Queen Latifah came together to make one of the most movies of all time: Joyful Noise! (We know this isn’t a Disney movie, Bertrude’s doing something else entirely). You might think this movie is Christian Pitch Perfect, but that is just one of the movies crammed into this runtime! Trying to accomplish the tasks of up four (4) movies in one go,...

In 2018, the Buzzy animatronic was stolen from the Wonders of Life Pavilion at Epcot. He still has not been found. We covered this in 2020 and safe to say there have been some developments, including Stolen Kingdom ( https://instagram.com/stolenkingdomfilm ). We dive into the new Buzzy drama, and reveal some of our own information never before shown to the public. And Patrick Spikes may be an even...

Hi there music fans! With Eurovision wrapping up and our trip down memory lane last week, we chose to revisit the most significant contribution to puppet-based movie musicals (according to Bertrude): The Country Bears! This 2002 Disney film is not necessarily… good, but it is very fun, with one weirdly tearjerking moment. It’s a cornerstone here folks, so like it or not, get ready for a TREAT Foll...

Ok listen. This episode is a treat, in a way. We’ve covered this topic before and it went terribly, and so we decided to do it again… and it didn’t get better! Escape from Tomorrow (2013) was illegally filmed in Disney Parks, and they pinned the success on that. Divas, this story is incoherent, astonishingly pre-AI, and pre-male-loneliness-epidemic. It’s daddy issues like you’ve seen a million tim...

Where were you on March 16th 2020? Was it locked into Vanessa Huggins’ livestream where she advocated for every single one of us to get coronavirus?? Bc that was one of her craziest moves. We’re breaking it down this week: the concept of respecting a virus, the epic highs and lows of having Chrissy Teigan come to your defense, and one diva’s unquenchable thirst to serve qnt at Coachella linktr.ee/...

Hello Bimbos! There are many facts of life: don't eat yellow snow, wait 30 minutes after eating before swimming, and if you yell at us we're gonna cwy. That's right: we're heading to sunny balmy Pittsburg Pennsylvania, because apparently that's where Abby Lee Miller was "succeeding" when television found her. It's the pilot of Dance Moms divas! Jade has watched this show since it aired, Bertrude i...

Welcome… to Jurassic Park, dinosaurs are queer coded and Laura Dern gets the respect this Saga failed to give her. We’re diving into the queer representation in Jurassic Park (mainly the costume department!!) and wind up queer coding dinosaurs as a whole!? It’s fascinating, you must tune in. We’re reminiscing on our memories with Jurassic Park, dunking on Chris Pratt, and a few other people he’d p...

What’s up Bimbos! This week we’re traveling to swamp far far away to talk about Shrek- abstractively! Once Jade breaks it down and Bertrude puts on his listening ears, you’ll see we’re not talking about the movie, we’re talking about Him (Shrek) and his impact on the quirkiest normies you’ll ever find! There’s a time and place for Shrek…. and just maybe some folks out there are relying on that sex...

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… Paula Abdul??? That’s right. For any number of reasons, Bug Abdul has spent decades doubling down on claims that she survived a plane crash… which gets about ten times easier to walk away from if it didn’t happen. But hey, it was the 90s! So what if she repeatedly gets knocked out and comes to in erratic ways. Who cares if there’s no documentation of the crash. Big...

Happy Easter Bimbos! Didn’t think we had an Easter episode in us? Wrong! We’re breaking down Trisha Paytas’ “Jesus Rises (Easter Song). The 2019 gospel smash hit rocked literally dozens of Christians and we’re back to see why. Trish is going to make some bold claims, we’re going to discuss. Two deconstructed bimbos breaking down a hymn from THIS era of Trish? What could go wrong? Follow Us! ( http...

Buck up divas! We’re wrapping up the story of us (so far) with our party girl era!! Folks, this brief but bright chapter of our lives has COUNTLESS tales, some remain to be told!!! We’re covering the infamous time we “got our phones stolen” at the Abbey, the 36 hour nonstop party that probably concussed Jade, and the Taco Bell trips sprinkled throughout! We’re back next week with a new topic, and...

Well hello divas! And welcome back to Bimbo Book Club Season 2! This time around, we’re adding context mama!! Catch up on the early years of Bertrude and Jade (2018-2021). Find out why Trisha Paytas has a special space in our heart (we stalked her) and find out how we bonded for life. Crack open a bottle of wine and join us, after all… it is Carl’s birthday! Follow Us! ( / bimbobookclubpod ) ( / b...

Bimbos, Thembos, and (reluctantly) Himbos, gather around for the Bimbo Academy's Debut Award Show: The Diva Cup! 12 Bimbos have been nominated, but there can only be one winner. Who's going home with the Diva Cup? Is it Controversial DEI Nomination: Fred Jones? What about the ever-mysterious Bella Goth? Rachel Berry technically qualifies. Elizabeth Taylor choked on a chicken bone in Big Stone Gap,...

Boots the house down like Nessarose! This week, we're celebrating the release of Wicked: For Good by having worse video quality and watvhing the Muppets' Wizard of Oz! It was one of Jade's favorite movies growing up, Bertrude had never seen it... so we're really coming at it from two different directions! In addition to Muppets' Wizard of Oz, we'll cast a (truly incredible) Muppet Wicked movie, cl...

Hi Bimbos we just wanted to hop on here really quick and say sor.... actually- we're getting ahead of ourselves! Hey divas! This week, we're unboxing a treasure trove of Bertrude's Covid-era tweets (he doesn't handle change well, which bodes well for us!). Jade picked out the tweets that jumped out most to her and used the opportunity to request elaboration or an apology. Sometimes she just congra...

Gobble Gobble Bimbos! This week, we're bridging Halloween and Thanksgiving the only way we know how: compelled by the spirit of Addison Rae. That's right divas! It's Eli Roth's 2024 Slasher Film: Thanksgiving! and boy are we grateful for what this movie is giving! This week, we'll talk about our general feelings on the movie, our favorite kills, and work together really hard to figure out why the...

.Happy Halloween Bimbos! This week, Bertrude's decided to rile up the millennials (again) by making some big claims: Chew rocks, Halloweentown! Gobble a dong, Phantom of the Megaplex! Girl vs. Monster is the best Halloween Disney Channel Original Movie... concept... we're not sold on the execution either. So we're rewriting it! Vaguely... we have concepts of a storyboard. But one thing is clear: H...

Greeting fellows travelers in the night! In this period of Satanic spirits and dark energy, we encourage you to take shelter here at Casa de Bimbo! We're not going to protect you from any of that... we'll just help you realize that none of it matters. This week, we're breaking down incredibly delirious takes from incredibly delirious Christians. Join us as we try to tackle these hateful hoes in a...
