In 1990 Caiaphas burial box, or ossuary was discovered. 2 nails, now confirmed to have been used in a crucifixion, was found there. Since it’s discovery in 1901, the Code of Hammurabi has been a monumental piece of ancient near eastern archaeology. This 7 feet by 6 feet diorite slab contains almost 300 paragraphs of legal provision. It is often compared and contrasted with the Law of Moses which came over 3 centuries or so later. This fascinating 1908 discovery by Irish Archaeologist RA Stewart Macalister is evidently a school child’s learning tool. Dating to about 925 BC, it gives the agricultural calendar of the day. It would be difficult to overestimate the Biblical and historical value of these 2 items in Archaeology. Found in 1886 and 1868 respectively, many cities, people, and events of Scripture are contained in the 2 discoveries. Egypt and Moab are the origination points of these artifacts of the sands of time.

Discovered by Austen Henry Layard in 1849, the 30,000+ tablets are a treasure trove of information. HG Wells called it the most precious source of historical material in the world. It is currently in the British Museum. God bless you today!
