Solomon's first task is to build a temple for God, something that his father David wished to do but was not chosen to do by God. We also see the new King Solomon show the gift of wisdom in a dispute between two prostitutes and a dead child.

We're into week 16 of the audio Bible in a year, reading through the end of 1 Samuel and into 2 Samuel with the corresponding chapters of Chronicles. The story of David, as we go through these next few weeks, is central to the story of the Israelites and the Old Testament.
