Beyond the Building

"Our lives are filled with opportunities for do-overs”. Things do not always go as planned and we have the opportunity to learn from them and to try again. God is at work in our hearts during these times-the key is for us to take full advantage of growing more into the likeness of Jesus.

God uses the heat and pressures of life to expose areas of sin in our lives, both what is visible to others as well as the secret sins in our hearts. Keeping our hearts clean before the Lord, in each step of the process, is what produces the sweetest fruit in our lives.

In sweet times of victory, it is more important than ever to make sure our worship is directed toward God in order to avoid pitfalls that lie ahead. David’s prayer for a clean heart positions us for what’s next on our journey.

When the heat gets turned up in our lives, we can be confident that God has chosen us and is dispatching us for His service. Keeping our eyes on this prize gives us endurance to remain faithful in the trial.
