Bethesda Christian Church Sermon of the Week

Pastor Pat closes the month of September and the “Be Bold” series with an important message, drawn from the life and letters of Paul, about the importance of prayer, being wise in how we interact with others, and making the most of every opportunity to live a life like Christ, proclaiming His truth!

In his last message of the series, “Be Bold,” for Missions Month, Pastor Pat urges us to be and expounds upon the importance of being a servant of Christ in all we do, and that having a mindset like Jesus will enable us to speak His name boldly, living out His mission with passion and love.

Pastor Pat returns to the series, “Be Bold,” discussing the importance of being confident in Christ, reminding us about Rev. Barry Allen’s message two weeks ago and the dangers of complacency, emphasizing that humility, prayer, and sharing God’s word will always help us grow in faith and speak about Jesus with confidence.

BCC and Hope Church come together to celebrate unity in Christ with its “We Are One” service. In his message, Pastor Pat reminds us of Jesus’ prayer the night before he was crucified, expounding on the hope that through his death, His mission - His Message - would be carried on by us and that we would be empowered to come together, speak truth boldly, and be united as Christ-followers in faith.

Rev. Barry Allen opens the month of September - Missions Month at BCC - with a message about complacency and the dangers that this type of attitude can have on our heart and our faith, referencing the Laodiceans as an example, and urges us to open our hearts fully to God and the calling He has placed on our lives.

In his message, “Hey God,” Pastor Pat reminds us, through Habakkuk, the importance of surrendering ourselves to God, keeping our faith in Him and His timing, and keeping Jesus Christ in front of us, finding strength in Him.

Pastor Pat reminds us through Jeremiah that God’s plan is not always as we had hoped, but that keeping faith, seeking Jesus, and obeying God’s word of seeking peace and prosperity, regardless of circumstance, we will receive God’s blessings and promise of eternal life.

Pastor Pat’s message, “Fearless,” reminds us that before we were even born, God knew us, loved us, and had a plan for us - that anything we fear or worry about can be overcome with Him.

In his message, “My Way or the High Way,” Pastor Pat reminds us that God’s Way is not only better​ but higher than we could ever imagine. And that through salvation - because of the blood of Jesus - we have everlasting love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy

Pastor Pat closes the month of July with a message about hope, and how in the midst of our angst - our complaints and grumbles - there is light and renewed strength found in the hope that Jesus provides, and with this hope we are able to change our attitudes, our perspectives, and our lives.

Rev. Barry Allen provides an important message, demonstrating through scripture (2 Kings 17:29, 32-35) how easy it is for nations and people to adopt the ways of the world, forgetting about God and his commandments. We are reminded that our minds should not be renewed through our own busyness, money, or work, but by His word alone, resting in our Savior to renew and purify our hearts and lives.

Rev. Rob Susan provides a great message about being the light in a world full of darkness - reminding us that the remedy for darkness is light, and our light comes from God - our creator - and through the grace that Jesus provides.

Pastor Pat opens the month of July with a new series focusing on Jonah, and the message his story conveys - that we all have moments like Jonah, where we want to run and hide from God … but God is a God of compassion, love, and forgiveness, and through Jesus we are provided grace when we run from responsibility.

In his last message of the series, “Under Construction,” Pastor Pat uses examples of Job and Peter alike to remind us that at the end of every trial and season of hardship is an opportunity for ministry. And that turning to Jesus - sharing him with others - is the best thing we can do for our souls.

Pastor Pat shares an important message, referencing Job, reminding us that in the depths of our struggles to look to Christ, and not to ourselves, to find peace and comfort.

Continuing with the story of Job, Pastor Pat shares with us an important reminder that even when we feel like we’ve had enough - even when we feel overwhelmed and want finality to our seasons of hardship - that God is always with us and that in faith, life and God go hand in hand. In his second message of the series, Pastor Pat provides a powerful message about empathy and providing comfort during times of crisis, reminding us to approach every situation with love and humility, never making assumptions, and seeking Him through prayer, fully listening before we respond.
