Dr. Mark Rutland speaks about grace, taken from the last verse in the Bible. God is looking for people who will build up others by the way they show grace, not tear them down.

This week we discover 3 things about the character of Jesus: He doesn't need our help (only our obedience), and he doesn't stand for manipulation or mistreating people. Jesus knew his destiny, but still had time for compassion on those around Him. He healed the sick even when it was a setup from the Pharisees to trap Him.

After repentance, Jesus teaches that to enter the kingdom of heaven we should do good and live the narrow way.

In the beginning of Luke 13, Jesus teaches us punishment for sin is not better or worse depending on the transgression - we will all equally perish unless we repent! The parable of the fig tree shows God's grace to us but that judgement will eventually come if we do not repent.

Jesus' teaching in this portion of Luke warns us to be ready and prepared. We should wait, watch, and work until he returns. We must beware of being careless and spiritually dull.

Jesus teaches us to beware of worry. Worry and Anxiety reveal where our focus and our heart truly is. The remedy for worry: put your trust in Jesus and love others!

In Luke 12, Jesus begins to warn the disciples to beware of the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. We also must make sure we live our lives with integrity and as we really are, owning our sin to allow Jesus to redeem us and restore us.

Jesus' words to the pharisees are a warning to us as well. Don't ignore the conviction of these passages, but allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you about any areas of your life that you have held onto.

The Good Samaritan story in Luke 10:25-37 is told not just to show us how we should treat our neighbor, but that we should be searching out who we can be a neighbor to. One of Luke's major themes is about getting the Good News to all people by showing them the love of Christ.

In Luke 10, Jesus recognizes the impact of His Father knowing Him. He modeled for us to rejoice in the Holy Spirit, in our Salvation, and in seeing blessings.

Jesus felt pressure from all around during his ministry. He was met with guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy, but He never neglected His Mission. We can still survive and we can still have peace while under pressure.

Luke gives us 3 directives from Luke 9:18-36. We must take up our cross daily, we must deny ourselves, and we must not be ashamed of him. If we want to share in His glory we should expect to endure suffering as He did.

Pastor Webb gives an overview of Luke chapter 9 that leads us to see our need of the Holy Spirit. When we seek Him we can receive the power, love, and discipline we need to tell the world about Jesus.

Are you relying on yourself of God? When Jesus sent out the apostles, He sent them with nothing extra so they could learn to rely on Him to meet their needs. The feeding of the five thousand happened because the disciples knew they could not provide anything of worth without surrendering to the Lord.

The story of the man with demons shows that there are spirits in this world, and that Jesus has authority over them all. We can always be empowered to control our lives through the Holy Spirit if we will surrender. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and keep in step with Him.

Luke places the parable of the lamp just before describing Jesus' true family. Jesus said that His real family does what He says to do, and He told us to tell the world the good news. If you are faithful in your obedience, Jesus calls you family. Today, listen to what He speaks and obey.

Luke is always looking for a way to remind us that Jesus cared for all people. He opens the chapter by telling us that women traveled and contributed to His ministry, and then moves into one of the clearest pictures of ministering to ALL people. We never know when people are ready to receive so be faithful every day.

Easter 2023!! No other King has died for me. No other King lost so I could win. No other King served those who fail Him Where does Jesus’ authority end? Where He lays it down. Jesus gives His life for us and then tells us to follow His example.  No matter where you are today, Jesus is reaching out to you to change your future!

Jesus is invited to a Pharisee's house for a banquet. While preaching a woman only described as a sinner walks in and finds herself near Jesus. Everyone in the room noticed her, but her eyes were only on Jesus. In every room there are two people- Those looking at Jesus and those looking at those looking at Jesus. Which are you?
