Those who follow Christ will find that the reward for their pursuit is God Himself.  There is a joy and a peace that only He can give.

In a world where the truth is hard to know, be good.  People can see what is good, and good helps point to God's truth.

The birth of Christ isn't just a cozy story. It reveals God's intention to understand us at every age or stage of life and in every challenge we face.  He knows our struggles and helps us find our way through them.

The birth of Christ reveals the depth of God's love.  For by sending His Son, He proved how much He desires to make peace with those He loves; giving more than anyone could ever imagine.

The birth narrative of Jesus was recorded and established for the clear purpose of NOT allowing myth to take over the story.  For several reasons, it stands alone as a legitimate accounting of what took place at the birth of Christ.

The Church is one of God's greatest gifts, but like all His gifts, it must be guarded, or it can be wasted.

We come to church for a variety of reasons, but God created church to strengthen our faith and encourage us to be bold in the world.

In a world of famous and celebrity religious leaders, the book of Acts reminds us that no one is irreplaceable.  Actually, every individual is just one link in a beautiful chain of faithful saints.

Giving to help needs (but primarily sharing the gospel) is the greatest indicator that one understands how much they have been given by God. The church was created by God to be a light by sharing its message without expectation of anything in return.

The Spirit of God grew the church in ways the existing church didn't expect with people that made them uncomfortable. The existing church had to learn that they aren't in control and need to be careful not to oppose the will of God.

The faith of four converts radically changed who would be allowed to enter the fellowship of God's people.  They reveal how Christianity became a global, rather than cultural, religion.

In the face of intense persecution, the church spread and grew as it trusted God and faithfully proclaimed the gospel wherever it went.

When a church grows, so do the needs.  However, key leaders need to stay focused on the mission.

No matter how good a church may be, they will always have people who like it, hate it, flock to it, and avoid it.  Yet, the Spirit can open the eyes of change people's view of it when the church is faithful and consistent.

Guest speaker, John Henderson, reminds us that the fruitfulness of the Christian life comes from abiding in Christ, not doing things for Him.

The first sin in the church was a couple's attempt to deceive the church into thinking they were more generous than they were. Sin has the power to ruin even the most beautiful things.

Everything good about the church is based on the gospel message; a message the world doesn't want to hear but is undeniably true.

In the early days of the church, it reached a standard that should encourages us to rise up to it. For even if we don't reach that standard, we will be blessed to be one step closer to it.

The Coming of the Holy Spirit is often studied for the signs that accompanied it, but the power that the Spirit gave was to the Church to be a witness to all nations and for everyone hear gospel spoken directly to them.

Leadership is a dangerous necessity in the church.  The story of Judas is a warning to us all, and his replacement is a message that leaders are still necessary even when some have failed.

Even with Jesus departing, the mission of God would continue through a new manifestation of His Spirit... the Church.
