Being NOTIFIED that you’re in the middle of a sin S28e146 Jn19:5 05.04.2025

Wouldn't it be cool if there was an EARLY WARNING system for sin? Wouldn't it be a mercy to get a notification that you are sinning in real time, or even better, that you are about to sin? Pilate gets this chance during the trials of Jesus.  Unfortunately, Pilate comes up short in his listening. For us, when we get that early warning, let's quickly take heed.  subscribe, it might he...

Mocking by color, cloak and crown S28e145 Jn19:2 04.04.2025

Mocking is debasing a person by parody. Today the Romans will tell the King of Kings that He is not their king. They tell the king of the world that He is not the king of THEIR world. They Mock Jesus as King to make a cruel point: You are not a king and You are not OUR king. They will act like He is a king to show that He is NOT a king. https://youtu.be/wEfzQAmRBuo

They already kicked me off the internet for this S28e144 Jn19:1 03.04.2025

The content of this podcast has already  got me kicked off the internet. It is so violent and unpalatable that the censors should and did "red flag" the publisher. The suffering is so bad, that even reviewing it verbally is offensive.   Hopefully, the suffering of Jesus will strike you deeply. He suffers maximally so we know that our maximal sins can be paid for. I give you the scourging...

Watch a person who fails to prevail in the truth S28e143 Jn18:36 02.04.2025

Watch 7 minutes to see a man fail to prevail in his wrestlings with God.  He has every opportunity.  Others, who had similar opportunities, come to faith. But not him.  It is Pilate and he fails to prevail in his wrestlings with Jesus Himself. Why watch? So that you, when presented with a similar chance, do not fail to prevail. If you had Jesus all to yourself, what would you ask Him? S28e142 Jn18:33 01.04.2025

Pilate gets to do something the rest of us can only dream about: He gets to ask Jesus some questions in private. Some of them involve legal guilt or innocence, but some of them come crashing back upon Pilate's own soul. Join me for under 7 minutes to hear of this clash of Kingdoms from the gospel of John. Subscribe and like and share please:  https://youtu.be/HqyKGfQ3C4w

What if Pontius Pilate wasn’t the only one to blame? S28e141 Jn18:28 31.03.2025

It is perhaps a little too convenient for us to blame Pilate for the crucifixion of Jesus.  It is even repeated in some of our creeds!  What if there are other culprits and we have to spread out the blame a bit? Most unpalatable, is this: What if the blame extends to ME? For   Jesus had to pay an undeserved penalty under Pilate, so that I could get off without penalty. Be brave. Listen like subscr...

If you are gonna spit, spit in their face. S28e140 Jn18:24 30.03.2025

It is a human truth that if you are going to degrade another person, go all the way.  If you are going to spit, spit in their face, for it is there that the insult is most effective.  Of all the horrors of heading to crucifixion, I'm not sure why this one particularly catches my eye.  As always, we have a choice to spit or not to spit.   Please listen or watch and subscribe:  https://youtu.be...

Eventually, the rooster crows for all of us S28e139 Jn18:25 29.03.2025

Peter's "come to Jesus" moment involves a rooster. For everyone reading this, you may not have a rooster involved, but you WILL have a similar moment. His was of conviction, betrayal, guilt, and fortunately, repentance. Listen 7 minutes to hear about the day when the rooster will crow for you.  https://youtu.be/gl3LjkXnNMk

Committing a crime to try to find a crime s28e138 Jn18:19 28.03.2025

Annas, the ex-High Priest tries to find a crime worthy of an execution for Jesus.  It doesn't go well.  Then, the unlawful strikes begin against Jesus. The first is with a hand.  There are many more to follow.  Jesus is violated legally and physically.  Come back tomorrow. It involves being violated relationally.  It involves a rooster.  https://youtu.be/M6Hxo7HNlEk

What’s the problem with Peter defending Jesus?S28e136 Jn18:7 26.03.2025

Peter tries to prevent the arrest of Jesus.  It is heroic and all that, but Jesus MUST BE arrested.  It is His mission that started in the Garden of Eden. It is the culmination of the rescue process that has lasted thousands of years.   No arrest=no rescue.  https://youtu.be/ZP-wYDIo-5w

Why does everybody fall down around Jesus? S28e135 Jn18:1 25.03.2025

The bad guys come to arrest Jesus.  Jesus reveals His name to this very committed arresting party.  What happens next cannot be underestimated: everybody FALLS DOWN. Jesus is packed with power, and for just a moment, everybody there experiences it. Let's all be ready for the day when we too experience it.   https://youtu.be/WTpqVMQHIXE

How do I know that God loves me? S28e134 Jn17:21 24.03.2025

Oneness is a witness. Unity of the church demonstrates the love of God. Unity of the people INSIDE church shows people OUTSIDE of the church that they are loved by God. Oneness, unity is so remarkable it will help the belief of those who do not possess it, to get them to a place where they DO possess it Listen 7 minutes to hear how you are loved by God. https://youtu.be/Unm1oga_DSY

Artillery at a distance S28e125 Jn16:7 15.03.2025

Welcome to my favorite Bible passage discovery.  Jesus tells the disciples that it is BETTER IF HE GOES AWAY.  That just blows my mind.   It is better in two ways. First, like artillery at a distance, Jesus continues to have an effect by INTERCEDING. Second, He sends a new, local help as well, the HELPER, the Holy Spirit.  Enjoy. and subscribe. https://youtu.be/3ykj6u-V03s

Do you RAGE against the RESCUER? S28e123 Jn15:23 13.03.2025

As we are being spiritually rescued, it makes little sense to RAGE AGAINST THE RESCUER. However, this is sometimes what we do.   Scripture is not written primarily to give us comfort, but to give us the truth. We are NOT Saved from: something that MIGHT POSSIBLY happen But from something that assuredly HAS ALREADY happened. People sometimes rage against the Rescuer and against those associated wit...
