As John writes the last paragraph of JOHN, he leaves a teaser for the future: There is a LOT MORE of Jesus.  You've got a library as big as the world to explore. When Peter hears that he’s gonna die, I think he’s encouraged at the news. With some bad parts, he also hears he's gonna be faithful, willing and old.  He hears that his death will glorify God, as it does even to this day. All of this together is an encouragement for Peter. Peter is GRIEVED that Jesus has to ask him the same question 3 times in a row. I don't think he's mad at Jesus.
