From start to finish we have been given all that we could ever need in order to be all that were meant to be to the honor and glory of God our Father through Jesus by the Spirit.

We will consider what our heavenly Father would teach us in this life in order that we might be great in His Kingdom.

The writer is going to use “kingdom” terminology to motivate and strengthen the faith of the people of God and provide clarity for those who may not be. To whose Kingdom to you belong?

How faith, holiness, and grace come together in our waiting.

God’s discipline falls into the category of love.

How faith gets us to the end.

Faith is more precious than gold.

Faith understands that everything we see was at one point unseen. And it's why the men and women of Hebrews 11 were able to believe God in the midst of the impossible.

We see God’s absolute pleasure in the faith of His people. In section we glory in the fact that this gift of faith sustained men through to the end.

Faith is the God ordained weapon, tool, resource equipping fallen men and women to flourish and glorify Him in a fallen and broken world.

How do we confidently grab hold of what Christ has accomplished in His life, death, and resurrection? God has mapped out for His people what it would look like to live by faith.

It is crucially important that we understand the relationship between grace and works. The work of Christ as the once and for all sacrifice for sins helps us to understand the rightful place of our works as it pertains to salvation. From this text we will see that grace has never been more amazing!

Old King David was given an assignment by God shortly before he died to write a song to be sung by Israel on the occasion of the dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem, built by David’s son Solomon. And it was sung at that grand opening, calling the people of God to remember who gets the glory...not David...not Solomon, but to the God of their salvation and Him alone!

The purpose of our existence is to glorify God.

The wisdom literature can be difficult to understand for many reasons. One of the reasons that we find it difficult is because it unapologetically defies our preconceived notions about life and love and faith and on and on. In this case the reader is forced to consider their preconceptions of what faith looks like and sounds like. What does your faith-filled day look like?

We learn a great deal about ourselves in the way we pray. For the Psalmist it is no different. The battleground of the heart is played out in our cries to the Father.

No one talks to you more than you do. In some sense the wisdom literature…especially the Psalms exemplify what emotionally healthy self talk and inward assessment would look like.

As David cries out to God for vindication, the words that come out his soul can seem to many as self-righteous. But if we share in his pursuit of holiness, we will understand that his cries and convictions actually come out of his need for redemption and grace.

God utilizes waiting to produce a very specific kind of man (woman). The man or woman who fears the Lord above all else is what God desires. It is what we should desire as well.

So many of us lose heart because we don’t understand what it means to wait upon the Lord. In this Psalm we will focus on what “waiting on the Lord” looks like and what it is meant to produce. Take heart. If you have come to the end of yourself you might just be at the beginning!

We all understand the concept of trying to ascend a sacred and holy Hill. We also know what it feels like to feel unworthy and incapable. Psalm 24 essentially explores the two possible ways of handling this reality.

What brings a person to the place where they genuinely believe that goodness and mercy would follow them for all their days? There is no replacement for the time spent being shepherded by Jesus.

Psalm 22 is one of the most explicit descriptions of the crucifixion of Jesus. It is one that Charles Spurgeon would call “The Psalm of the Cross.” Not only did Jesus perfectly fulfill this prophetic text, he also gives us a glimpse into what he was feeling and thinking as he took on the sins of the world in the midst of being forsaken by the Father…ultimately for our good and His glory.

On one level Psalm 21 is the response to God answering the prayer of Psalm 20. If the King is truly and ultimately Jesus then we have a genuine perspective on life given the redemption that He would eventually bring to the world.
