I blog every Monday at www.anotherworldisprobable.com and this podcast is me reading those posts. For years people asked me whether I had a blog and the answer was always "no," until one day it was, "yes."I started "Another World is Probable" as a nod to the World Social Forum's annual theme, "Another World is Possible." There's also that quote from Arundhati Roy who says, "Another world is not only possible, she's on the way and, on a quiet day, if you listen very carefully you can hear her breathe."In my opinion, we've moved beyond the cusp of possibility and into the realm of reality.

COVID-19 and the Global Society 23.03.2020

There's a lot of harm coming from COVID-19. I don't have to tell you that, you already know. But I also wonder if some good can come from this virus. If perhaps we'll move to a more global society. More in this week's post.

Maybe Believing Makes It So 16.03.2020

Lately I've been thinking about how as much as history is filled with stories of human suffering, it's also filled with stories about overcoming it. In my own life, I'm prone to tell the former more than the latter. But what if I focused more on the positive? Would believing life can and will get better make it so? More in this week's post.

OK God, OK 09.03.2020

It's been a doozy of a week what with the primaries in the U.S. and the coronavirus sweeping the world. There's lots of fear and panic in the air. What are we supposed to do ? How do we handle a situation that we have so little control over? The answer in this week's post.

All is Provided 02.03.2020

I've written about this topic several times over the years, but it bears repeating. Right now as I'm in a transition phase of my life, being self-employed and all, I'm building my faith muscle. Particularly, faith that everything I need is and will be provided. At the same time, I'm working to let go of control and to trust that all will be well. More in this week's post.

Some Things Will Happen Anyway 24.02.2020

There are certain things that are meant for us in this lifetime. We can't run away from them as much as we try. It's why the healthiest person you know gets cancer. Or your friend can't find a job despite applying all over creation. It would be easy to sink into defeatism here. To say, “Oh well. That's my fate. Can't do anything about it,” but that's both true and not true. More in this week's pos...

This Life Belongs to Love 17.02.2020

I'm reading a life-changing book and it's reminding me of some essential truths I'd forgotten about love, surrender, and ownership. More in this week's post.

What's the Boundary of Your Identity? 10.02.2020

When you ask someone, “Who are you?” They'll likely state their name and then other labels like gender, age, ethnicity, etc. If you ask them to go a little deeper, they might start talking about their family or nationality. Maybe they'll mention their political affiliation. All of that is fine – I'm not saying there's anything wrong with identifying in that way, but can identity go further than th...

Re-Souling 03.02.2020

How do you introduce more soul into what seems like a soul-less world? More in this week's post, which also incorporates the impeachment trial and ecofeminism.

The Wound is Also the Gift 27.01.2020

I heard the title of this quote on a podcast a few months back and it stuck with me because it rang true, but I also wasn't quite sure how. This week provided clarity on how the wound can also be the gift. Listen to find out.

Divine Matchmaking 20.01.2020

Sometimes the universe brings you who you need just when you need them. That divine matchmaking reminds me of the magic and the mystery of the universe. More in this week's post.

Flowing around Obstacles 13.01.2020

Sometimes I let obstacles knock me down, keep me from moving forward. However, I'm trying something new and that's flowing around obstacles like a river. More in this week's post.

Something is Better than Nothing 06.01.2020

Many things are on my mind and heart right now: Australia, Iran. What am I, an individual, supposed to do in these times? The conclusion I've come to is something is better than nothing. Learn more in this week's post.

Small but Mighty 23.12.2019

Right now it's Hanukkah. A part of me doesn't want to admit I'm Jewish because of the rise of antisemitism, but then I'm reminded that's a theme of Hanukkah: a small but mighty group defeating an oppressive force. More in this week's post.

Mining for Gold 16.12.2019

The year is coming to an end and it's not at all what I expected. I've been crying about it and also working to see the good in what's occurred. More in this week's episode.

Milestones 02.12.2019

Today is my birthday and I'm reminded birthdays are not promised. They are not foregone conclusions. Many people don't make it to 35, or 34, or 33. Truly every birthday is a milestone. And so is every day.

Maybe We Don't Need to Know 25.11.2019

Do we need to know everything? Or is it better sometimes to stay in the dark? More in this week's post.

Cosmic Arrogance 18.11.2019

For the past few weeks I've been thinking about self-confidence and what I believe I'm capable of. I think I'm capable of very little. But isn't that arrogant if the universe keeps saying otherwise? More in this week's post.

Whose Bliss? 11.11.2019

Am I following my bliss? How would I know? Another question is "How do I know my bliss is the right one?" More in this week's post.

Becoming the Ocean 04.11.2019

This week I was inspired by Khalil Gibran's poem "Fear." It's how a river meets the ocean and becomes something bigger than itself. More in this week's post.

Coming to Light 26.10.2019

Right now people are celebrating a festival of lights all over the world. I see it as a metaphor for the times we're enduring. More in this week's post.

Looking for Mirrors 21.10.2019

Why are we attracted to the things we are? I think it's bigger than "we just are." Instead to me it seems like we're all looking for mirrors. We want our internal to reflect our external. More in this week's post.

Choosing Faith 07.10.2019

Things have been hard for me lately. When I asked what to do about it, the answer was "have faith." But what does that even mean? More in this week's post.

The Beauty in the Climate Tragedy 29.09.2019

Climate change has been on my mind a lot lately. Parts of it I find inspiring, and others I find depressing. Could there be beauty here too? More in this week's post.

At Peace with the Inevitable 09.09.2019

Some things feel like they were always going to happen. What's going on with my diet right now is one of them. More in this week's post.

In the Hallway 01.09.2019

A friend of mine used an analogy the other day that's stuck with me. She said her higher power has closed a door in her life and hasn't opened another one yet. So for now she's stuck in the hallway, waiting for another door to open. Yesssssss. That's so my life right now. But also being in the hallway is necessary. More in this week's post.
