This is done to remind all of us that all things, all things are a gift of God's grace to us.  Let's always remember where our strength and life comes from...

In our Thursday Rooted in Christ podcast, we look closer at the World in Front of the Text for Luke 4: 16-21. This is Jesus first sermon. As a preacher, you want your first sermon to lay out for your people who you are and what you believe.  Today, we see that Jesus' first sermon may not go a path we expect.  What does this mean for us today in our lives?

In our Wednesday Rooted in Christ podcast, we look closer at the World of the Text for Luke 4: 16-21.  Jesus is quoting from Isaiah in this passage, but what does these words mean?  When we look deeper, we see that each of the proclamations that Jesus makes has a deeper meaning for us today.

In our Tuesday Rooted in Christ podcast, we look closer at the World Behind the Text of Luke 4: 16-21.  We look at what is happening behind the scenes of this passage, what the synagogue would have been like and what the people would have been expecting when Jesus sat down to teach.

In our Traditional sermon from December 13, 2020 Andy continues looking at the words to "O Holy Night."  In this we are told that His Law is love.  We see today Jesus' greatest commandment.  What would it look like if we were legalistic about keeping this command? 

In our Rooted in Christ podcast, this week we are looking at Luke 4: 16-21.  Today we will look at what prophecies mean.  We see Jesus quoting Isaiah in this passage, but what was the role of prophet in relation to Jesus?  What role to prophecies and the Old Testament play in his life and ministry?

Today as we finish looking at John 13: 31-35, we see Jesus tell us that we are to love one another as He loved us. This is how the world will know that we are His disciples. What does it mean to be a disciple?  What does the path of discipleship look like for us a Christians?  What does love have to do with it? 

Today in our reflection we look at the world in front of the text of John 13: 31-35.  What does this passage mean for us today?  What does it mean for us to love?  Who is it we should love?  What should our love look like?  

In our Wednesday Bible study for December 9, 2020, we look in depth at each of the four Gospels and the Christmas Stories as presented within in each one. How does each Gospel show us something a little different about the birth of our Savior?  You may be surprised by what we find. 

Today we look deeper at the world of the text of this John 13:31-35. What is happening here on the paper?  What is Jesus actually saying to us in this passage when he talks about love?  Love in the biblical sense looks very different than our modern version of emotion.  

Today in our daily reflections, we are going to take a look at the Christmas story as seen in the Gospel of John, as well a brief look at at the other Gospels.  This week's Bible Study will go deeper in this area.  

Today as we look deeper at John 13:31-35, we take a deeper look at the final teachings of Jesus in John, before going to the cross.  When we look deeper at John's final few chapters, we see here that Jesus' new commandment is the teaching on which everything centers on.

In our Traditional Service message from December 6, 2020, Andy shares from Luke 1: 46-56, the Magnificat.  As we read Mary's beautiful song of praise, we learn much about how God uses unexpected heroes to do amazing things for His kingdom! 

Today we continue our deeper look at Mary's Magnificat. This is Mary's song of worship. Mary is worshiping God because of all that He has done for her.  This passage reminds us that we are not the objects of worship, we are the actors.  This passage shows us the importance of the gift of worship to God.  

In our Wednesday Night Live Bible Study, we finish the study of our book Eight Life Enriching Practices of United Methodists.  We finish up by talking about how it is that we can share our faith.  

Today we continue our deeper look at Mary's Magnificat. Mary's song of praise has some very specific promises, hopes, and memories.  We can learn a lot of hoping, dreaming, and joy from looking at this powerful passage.

In Advent, we will be using the beloved song "O Holy Night" as our guide, as we look at different verses and passages of Scripture. In our Traditional Sunday Sermon from November 29, 2020, Andy preaches from Hosea 14: 1-9 and "Long Lay the World."  

This week we are going to be looking deeper at the Magnificat, Mary's song of praise in Luke 1: 46-56.  Today we take a moment and consider why Mary is so important and see what we can learn from her example of faith.  

Happy Thanksgiving!  Today we have a brief reflection on 1 Chronicles 16:34 and some homework.  Give thanks to the Lord!  He is good and His love endures forever.  This is your homework.  Name, out loud, what and who you are thankful for.  And if you can, contact that person and tell them that you are thankful for them! 

Today as we look at Hosea 14: 1-9, we look at the world in front of the text.  What does this prayer of confession for the Jewish people, at this moment in their life mean to us? What can we learn about where our hope and life come from? How can this change how we live? 

Today we look closer at Hosea 14.  We find that this passage is a prayer of confession to God for the sins of the people. What sins have they committed?  How have they turned from God?  What can this show us about our own lives?  

In our Traditional Sermon from November 22, 2020, Andy shares from Matthew 25: 31-46.  In this passage we look at what it is like for Jesus to be King.  We learn to encounter Jesus under the mask of poverty, need and humanity.  May serve Jesus and commune with Jesus.  

This  week we are going to be looking at Hosea 14:1-9.  Today we look at the world behind the text.  Hosea's story is an interesting one, a beautiful story of grace, mercy, and love.  Today we look at what's happening behind the scenes.
