The church and God's family is way bigger than just something we do on Sunday. Michael walks us through the entire story of the Bible to help us understand God's plan of redemption and how the family of God is essential to this gospel metanarrative.

Knowing who we are to be is one thing, but being formed into that can be an entirely different challenge. It is important to examine our formational habits, or we might discover that we have been creating something other than what we desire to be. 

We know that Jesus came, in part, to establish his church. But what is the church? Is it a building, a meeting time, a highly functioning organization, or something altogether different? Understanding what Jesus came to create is vital for us to understand our role and identity in the world.

In the family of Chris we are called to admonish and spur one another on to love and good deeds. How we do this and how we receive correction from others makes all the difference.

People are messy. Church is messy. Learn to embrace the mess.

We will all go through pain and hardship in life. It is those who have strong relationships that best endure the storms. God in his grace is near us in our hardship and provides us with spiritual family to help us carry our burdens.

An essential part of building family is learning to honor one another. We are called to honor all people and to strive to outdo one another in honoring others in the family of God.

We continue to discuss the importance of belonging as an essential element of the family of God. At this park service Alejandro describes how because of Jesus we can have confidence to belong.

We were made to belong to God and one another. How do we create a culture where all can be fully known and fully loved?

To cultivate a family culture of Christ-like love, we must first establish a sense of belonging. However, to foster a culture of mutual belonging, we must first be rooted in our belonging to God.

What kind of family culture does Jesus want us to have? We are to be a people marked by the love of Christ.
