As we go through life, the Holy Spirit, like a hiking trail guide, leads us each step of the way. But as those who follow Him, it's important to remember that our own wisdom isn't enough. We need to actively listen and follow Him as He leads us.

Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He told His disciples to wait for something He promised earlier: the coming of the Holy Spirit. Today we discover the amazing reality that Jesus' presence within us through the Holy Spirit is actually better than Jesus' physical presence beside us.

自分の失敗によって、イエスに従うことへの確信が打ち砕かれたとき、どうすればいいでしょうか？今週の聖書個所でイエスは、二つの焚き火の場面を用いて、ペテロの弱さの中で会い、奉仕に招いてくださるのを見て行きます。それは、自信からの奉仕ではなく、イエスに愛され、イエスを愛する心から出てくる奉仕です。

What happens when our confidence in following Jesus gets shattered by our own failures? Jesus uses the scenes from two campfires to help Peter (and us) see how Jesus meets us in our weakness and calls us to serve: not from self-confidence, but from love.

When the disciples returned to fishing after Jesus's resurrection, they discovered the futility of working in their own strength. Our passage shows us how Jesus uses their empty nets to teach them (and us) about dependence on Him for both guidance and provision in our daily lives.
