A great segment, Ann Leahy came in this morning to discuss her attendance at the Shadow cabinet meeting in Townsville last week. Labour set to introduce compulsory preferential voting in local government elections and Rural Fire Brigade changes in their reporting procedures. Ann Leahy also talked about attending the opening of the Roma levee bank, stage 1&2.

Mat Gane came in this morning to talk all things to do with local sport. The Roma speedway has a race on this weekend. Echidnas are starting their season this week, playing against Highfields, Darling Downs Basketball trials in Toowoomba. We also gave out predictions for the first round of the NRL this week.

In St George, on March 30, a brand new memorial to commemorate the Amoy shepherds will be unveiled. It's believed it's a first for Chinese- Australian historical recognition. I recently had a chat with the St George Heritage advisor, Check Ling to talk about the history behind the Amoy shepherds and the event.
