I caught up with John Coulton, Mayor of Gwydir shire after a brief hiatus and we discussed the road projects that are happening around the shire, including the heavy vehicle bypass. There is also a tender going out for the upgrades for the county boundary road. Also with the upcoming council elections nominations are being sought from people who are considering being councillors.

This morning on the show I had a chat with Adam Marshall, Member for Northern Tablelands, currently recovering from Covid-19 but feeling a lot better. We talked about the vaccine and funding for the Moree Cultural Precinct.

I spoke with Jonathon Wicks about the local rugby fixtures as well as state and national rugby.

After two weeks hiatus, I recently caught up with the mayor of the Goondiwindi Shire, Lawrence Springborg about the recent local budget, an update on the Inglewood aged care facility, and the recent border situation with the QLD lockdowon due to the coronavirus. We also discussed the local vaccine clinic to help vaccinate people.

Narrabri shire is going full steam ahead with lots of grants being awarded for the Narrabri Show Society and for improvements for the road network. Ron recently attended the conference for the Inland Rail project. And exciting news for Wee Waa as they're about to get new buildings for their high school. Mayor Ron Campbell has all the details.

Mark Coulton, federal member for Parkes joined me from Burnie, Tasmania this morning to announce some new funding for farmers to build fences along their river banks in the region. New funding has also been announced for Men's Sheds and the latest on the vaccine rollout in Australia.

I spoke to one of the consultants on the survey, Ed about this and what residents can expect and gave some information about the levy costings the feasibility report that the survey will influence, and contact info for concerned residents.

Progress in being made in Goondiwindi Shire with regards to crime with the formation of the Local Border Crime Prevention Committee, aiming to reduce crime in the area. Lawrence Springborg and I also spoke about the the Inland Rail project, the lastest updates on the water management program, and the upcoming council meeting agenda.

An important survey regarding the flood levy this week and Katrina Humphreys, Moree Plains Shire Mayor is encouraging people to get their survey responses in as consultants will be having meetings with people next month. Katrina was also passionately angry about the recent spate of car thefts that have plagued Moree in recent weeks and the perpetrators are putting it on social media.
