With the lead-up to Christmas in full swing, the Flinders shire has a lot of events going on this month. I spoke to the mayor, Jane McNamara about the Christmas festivities happening in the shire.

At the PCYC in Charters Towers on Monday the 6th of December, 5.30pm, there will be an information session about the Neighbourhood Watch program helping to reduce crimes in the area. I spoke to Sergeant Tony Hosie and Senior Sergeant Neil King from Charters Towers Police about the program and what will be discussed at the session.

The Covid 19 vaccination clinic is coming back to Charters Towers this Thursday-Saturday. I spoke to the CEO of Townsville Hospital and Health Service all about it and where people can get their vaccines.

McHappy day is happening right around the country on the 13th of November raising funds to provide accommodation for families of seriously sick children undergoing care and treatment at hospitals. The McHappy day last year raised over $5 million and hope to raise even more.
