“The creative adult is the child who survived.”Advanced Pretend explores the inner child who is still showing up for creative professionals. Children follow a natural impulse to be original, and in that version of ourselves, we created with freedom. We talk with professionals in fine art, writing, and culinary arts, and we hope that our exchanges inspire the audience to bring creativity into their lives and to follow the creative impulse with a sense of curiosity and play. We believe that as adults, we can still tap into the child inside and find a way to see the world with fresh eyes.
