A Sure Hope

Many of us are shocked and even confused by our society's intolerance of Christianity. From accusations of bigotry, hatred, stubbornness and more, we can't help but think it's getting worse over time. Trying to discern God's leading in our life is a major issue for most of us. We have a bad habit of thinking that our plan for our lives would be the best way to go. While prejudice will likely never be gone from our world, we as Christians have a responsibility to be like Christ. If Jesus loves everyone equally, regardless of merit, then we should practice that same mindset today!

It is easy to compromise when we are feeling pressured by society, and sometimes even people we respect and hold in high esteem. God has called us to be different than those around us, and to stand up for what is right and good and just. Pastor Dave encourages us to continue to hold fast to our values today, no matter what!

Christians are called to stand out in the world, and to have an influence upon it. This is something we sign up for the moment we accept God’s gift of grace and love. However, as Pastor Dave reminds us today, sometimes we don’t actually show our Christian side to the world. We need to be a light to the darkness around us!
